Cant decide between precision 6262 or 6266

Post by Brokenlynkz »

I can decide whether to go with the precision 6262 or the 6266. I have 1000cc injectors stock throttle and intake manifold, wisco pistons and eagle rods , stock crank, aem ems and 38 mm wastegate, also have a mishimoto radiator to cool the engine better. I already know that the ka24det cant handle high rpms like past 7000 without evenually tearing stuff up. So would a 6266 do the job with a .63 a/r because of the boost will kick in around 2000-5000rpm but the .82 a/r would kick in around 4000-7000rpm. need help

id choose it for more top end power with the 82 ar. but im more into drag racing. plus traction wouldnt be as bad since the power would come on a little latter into the rpms.

using a .63ar housing on the 6266 will choke up the exhaust side quite a bit, although spool will be slightly better than the .82 housing the engine will not actually be able to take advantage of the larger compressor wheel. Do you have a # in mind you want to make? What fuel will you be using?

enjoy the build, sounds like your well on your way to a solid set up!

What fuel do you have available? Plan on running water/meth injection?

Oh if you are running e85 then definitely get at least the .82.. The extra volume of exhaust will help make up for spool and you'll be able to run crazy high boost with no problem..
