Comeitc install
Hey i was wondering if anyone has installed the cometic with out getting the head and blocked machined to that certain roughness. I got my short block together so im not gonna take it all the way apart. but i did get both the block and head re surfaced with the timing chain covers on it. I was gonna use the felpro hg but just wondered if any used the cometic with resurfacing the block and head but not to the 50 RA.

I have.
It simply required cleaning the head and block a lot using a rag, razor blade, and brake parts cleaner. The stock finish is very smooth.
I also use two coats of copper spray-a-gasket.
I have reused a cometic gasket six times. Then, I bought another one and reused it once. I never had any of the components machined.
