Post by Empire087 »

I was putting everything on my block, and upon trying to get it ready to put it back in my father and i noticed a bunch of hoses and holes we didnt know where they should go. Could someone please tell me what each of the colored hoses or holes do?

Green is for the aac valve which should go to ur intake after maf.
Blue is throttle body heater which has coolant which every one gets rid of.
Yellow is power steering return hose . I think the red one should be the loop form the upper to the thermostat area.

If you study the Factory Service Manual, they outline where everything goes. Its a bid 'mind-numbing' at first, but it makes sense.

Ok thanks for the explanation jsd. After you told me what was what I went and checked everything and it made way more sense. However I'm really not sure about the guy hiding in the bottom left hand corner. Any idea what that one does?

+1 if the orange one leads to a black box full of crap. plenty of long winded discussion about what to do with this one when ka-t, hook it up to catch can and pre-turbo, or leave it to atmosphere/catch can without pro-turbo influence.

So pretty much, either throw an air filter on it, or run a catch can off it. Easy enough lol. It comes of the block, so I was like " oh **** this looks important! Wheres it go!!!!??!??!" lol

probably shouldnt put just a filter on it, since it will get gummed up really quickly. either keep the line on it and point it straight down out the bottom of the engine bay, run it to a catch can, or run it to pre-turbo intake. (the third option is how it operates on a stock motor, and is arguably the "proper" way to do it)

too many pages of theories, but TONS of people who run the pcv any which way with no problems.
