Hello everybody! This is my first post and im hoping i dont get flamed right off the bat lol. I was kinda wanting everyones opinion on a couple turbos so its more of a poll. I am currently putting together parts for a build and am looking at a couple turbos for sale, I want to make around 450-500 whp and just want to know which turbo from the choices below you would choose. These are my choices right now based on the price and me being poor
The choices are:
Big Holset H1C
Holset Hx35w-8 blade
Precision PTB 5031e (.50cold .63 hot)
Turbonetics T3 60 trim (waiting on AR specs)

this is not a flame.
your broke.... maybe try 300whp? its a lot more fun having and using a mild setup than dreaming/saving/parts hording for a high hp build. also, this is one of those questions where if you have to ask.... well you know. reliable 450-500whp setup $5k+

thanks for the input, i did think about that also but basically all i need now to finish this off is the turbo, injectors, clutch and ecu managment so i figured id try and go for it. ive bought and horded most parts already lol.

Yea...
You'd probably have to shoot corn to reach those numbers reliably w/those turbos.

u got all forged internals, head work, cams intake mani etc? def required. still lots to spend though. say u get this turbo for 300
ecu 700-1600 (MS to AEM)
500whp clutch, $500+
stock pile of ka transmissions $XXX
fire hose injectors $600+
u could tone it down and get a similar turbo (maybe smaller hy35), a white bunny clutch $250, some sti injectors $200 and a nismotronic ecu $500

I would recommend either an Rb25 or a z32 trans too. The life of the stock KA trans hangs in an uneasy balance in that whp range. I suppose it depends how it is driven too. If it is not abused (like droppin clutch and shift lockin through corners) and power is applied gently from a roll, one could possibly have decent luck with the stock trans.
I would maybe check out limits for axels, driveshaft and diff, If you haven't already.
Just a side note: 280whp in an s chassis car feels pretty quick; all about that power to weight ratio!

I voted for precision cuz I love there turbos but a budget and 500whp don't go in the same sentence. Get a turbo that'll give you room to grow like a 6262 boost 7psi and next year try 14psi with a better build after aWhile 500whp gets boring.

I vote precision 6262 also . I love mine and I even have the .82 a/r turbine. I would recommend you use e85 if you can get it i swear its a god send bro.

what sdaigle said.and there is a big financial difference between 300whp and 500whp.if u want reliability...
one of the holsets w do it though.should be around 300whp @ 15psi and 350whp @ 20.hx35 is good for 30 psi at least.
but ya id change ur goals strickly becuz u said the word poor.poor and hotrod doesnt go together idc w anybody says.

6 puck white bunny clutch will hold 500whp easily, and That's 375$
