If you like black, you should use that truck bedliner spray. I think it'll look legit.

The valve cover doesn't get nearly as hot as, say, the head or block and can be painted with pretty much any type of paint. Find something you like and just make sure you do good prep-work and it should turn out great

Yep, prep work is the most important thing. Make sure it's nice and clean. Sand it well, lay several thin coats and leave ~30 mins between each one.

After paint has cured you can take a flapper wheel and grind off the paint on the raised letters for a nice 2-tone look.

Ive always used regular spray paint what ever color i wanted. As said above prep is what really matters and just don't apply to heavy of a coat at a time to cause runs.

I've painted mine a few times to change it up,solid color is easy just take your time, solid with shaved letters looks good and not much harder.here's my latest took a bit more prep work was only hard part.its just duplicolor paint I had in the garage.silver with blue letters and clear coat.

Ive finally decided im going with the VHT wrinkle black, I LOVE the way it looks and it doesnt need a clear coat just needs to be cured in the oven at 200 degrees for 20 mins.

I agree, it really doesnt get that hot. The first time around I used high temp engine paint and I found it to be really brittle, chipped very easy. The second time around I used appliance epoxy, it has been very durable and is resistant to most solvents.

My dad and I have started doing our own powder coating. Stuff is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Durable and looks great.

This is a much brighter gold in person. Florescents don't do it justice. This one is on my car.

VHT makes really good products. Just make sure you find some kind of paint shop nearby so they can bake it properly. Most shops won't charge you much to put it in w/ a full car or something.

We also use the eastwood kit and eastwood powders mostly. I think my dad started ordering from another place for powder. This is more of his side project than mine to be honest with ya.

i just use cheap engine enamel paint from vato zone

and throw in a sparkle clear coat spray i get from lowes

its not that obnoxiously sparkly unless the sun hits it. if its in the shade you will barely see any rainbow sparkles
