can someone clear this up?

Post by cham »

I look at the dyno post and there was a member on here that made 500hp on corn with 850cc injectors.with a precision turbo. Now I have people telling me I would only make 350 on 1000cc on corn with a 6262.

Lots of fuel pressure maybe?

350 on 1000cc sounds a little conservative but you do need huge injectors for e85 and big power

Probably running >5 bar fuel pressure. 1000cc fuel injectors on E85 will only allow you 325 horse @ 3 bar while keeping that 80% duty cycle safety margin.

If you go to 4 bar it allows you to go approx. 375ish

At 5 bar you can get around 425.

Granted all this is just math and what you see on the vehicle may be more or less depending on tuning. This is also at 0.98 BSFC, which is the generally accepted number for E85.

on a 6262 you could just about hit those numbers on pump gas and reasonable boost 22ish. curious, about what boost would net that on corn?

I found a guy on here running exact numbers and boost I want. And been running this set up for 3years and beats the hell outta the car. Custom intake, side feed,850cc,91,cams, retainers and springs, built bottom end...everything else is totally stock even ignition system. Simple and plain. Really makes a lot of builds look way over kill.. And his buddy is running the same set up with fic 1250cc making more then him on stock fuel pressure.the car ideals stock. I'm going with Aem ems also. I'm not going past 22psi..if I have to trailer my car to these guys tuner I will. No issues with e85 in all 3years. No gunk, bad fuel lines, nothing.stock fuel lines.totally the opposite of the stories I've heard.

nice. well if it aids your motive, ive got 20,000 miles/6years on pretty much that setup with a slightly smaller snail. first 12k were stock block 12-16psi on a 52mm gt3251 though.

hy35 (comp: 56/76 and turbine is 65/58, purdy sure that would be a 5658 in precision talk), gasket matched head, springs/retainers, 264/264, built bottom, 93 octane, 18psi just street tuned, 360whp/tq on stock cams according to virtual dyno. sounds about right, shes got more in her between timing and boost on a dyno. an intake mani would be huge too.

Are you running corn? Cause man I'm telling Ya. I could benefit from in it in two ways since it's in my town and surrounding areas. Cheap and power gain.

put it right in my last post - 93 octane. actually dunno which member youre referencing. Connecticut doesn't seem to have any hope of receiving corn any time in the future.
