Block painting update

Post by JoeyTheKid »

So I posted a couple weeks ago asking for advice on block and valve cover painting. I wanted to say thanks to all those who helped and heres an update

As for the valve cover I'm going with a metallic blue with white lettering. Considering doing the intake manifold white as well but not sure if it would be overkill.

That is sick! I'm kicking myself for just using flat black now....

I appreciate it! One last question... I see that most people with painted blocks don't have their upper/lower timing covers done and they don't paint their head either... is there a reason for this that I am missing? Could I paint my timing covers and head to match the block safely?

So what you're saying is that the paint would insulate the head in a sense and elevate the oil temp?

I painted my timing covers, but not the head. I haven't noticed any negative effects from it.

Not saying it would make a big difference, its just a few degrees that wouldnt be there otherwise.. i like free efficiency!

I moved near the beach, so i painted all that stuff to protect it
