blowing fuse when i kill the car in 1st

Post by wildbama37 »

yeah this is reaLLy weird! every time i try to take off in 1st gear and i end up killing the car because of the really harsh clutch, the EGI fuse under the hood blows. it blows without fail...every single time and ONLY when i kill the car. if i turn the car off the normal way then it's fine, but if the car gets killed then it will blow. i dunno what the deal is..

Sounds about right, the EGI fuse is to prevent such events as flooding the engine... in case the engine bay catches fire etc.

u guys are talking like your perfect little angels or something.. ive driven manual all my life and i still kill it sometimes when my foot gets lazy..

it shouldnt blow the fuse when you kill it, doesnt for me anyway.

sorry no further constructive input on it, but as you kill it the car tries to recover the idle so maybe something to do with the idle control valve ? check grounds in that area...
