leak and smoke from turbo

Post by kennyS13 »

i just started up my ka-t today and white smoke was pooring all over the place, the turbo was rebuilt so it has 0 miles on it.could it be possible to have to much oil pressuring running to the turbo causing it to leak?what do i need for this to stop..its white smoke and smells like oil,the leak cant be from the oil pan because all the bolts are tighten down.also my buddy reach in and touch the elbow while the car was running and some oil got around his finger.?what can this be?
please let me know ka-t i need this car running asap.

Check the oil feed inlet and outlet, might be a bad seal.

It might be a turbo oil seal, or too much oil pressure running into the turbo, which ruined the seals... and double check all your fittings and oil lines/connections to verify nothing is sneaking out there.

use an oil restrictor. If you tell us what turbo you are running we may be able to tell you if you need one, and if someone else is running the same turbo, they may be able to tell you what size they are using.
