Over boostin after 5500 rpm

Post by Bonomoskat »

i have 6262 custom manifold 44 mm tial waste gate enthalpy ecu. it holds a steady boost until like 5500 then it creeps about 5 psi. i tried a new waste gate didnt do anything tried running one vacuum line to the waste gate didnt work . i dont understand wtf could cause this . the only other thing it could be is the manifold but i doubt its that cause when i first put it on it never did this. any ideas?

is your car any louder now then it used to be?
it is possible your cat ( if you had one ) blew out or your muffler did and there is now less restriction in your exhaust.. that is really the only other possiblity aside from poor manifold design .

if i were you, i would add a second wastegate and never worry about it again

Wastegate dumped, or re-routed to the exhaust?

If it's not dumped: Could be, that the manifold design is only "OK"...and as you reach the full flow capacity of the exhaust/downpipe...the wastegate tube "backs up" (for lack of a better term), and you get boost creep.

Try dumping the wastegate. It will eliminate any restriction there, and maybe it'll hold boost.

???

Just a thought.

I have a very similar problem.

The car goes great until 5000-5500rpm before it starts to stutter

any updates on this?
