MAF placement
Good morning guys, I did some searching and read on the placement of the MAF . Two things that came up were blow through and draw through setup . I have not had any hands on with this so my question is what is blow through and what is draw through? I planed on placing mine on the compressor side of the turbo on the flange that sticks out (don't know the correct terminology ) . That's what I've always seen done. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Pictures would help big tine)
Blow through placement: MAF is on cold side pipe before TB.
Draw through placement: MAF is pre turbo connected to the inlet.
If running draw through, recirc of the BOV is recommended. If blow through, then you can vent to atmosphere.

So in a blow through setup the maf will actually see boost pressure and in a draw through setup there is unmetered air correct?supakat wrote:Blow through placement: MAF is on cold side pipe before TB.

Are there any advantages to blow through placement other than venting into the air ?
MAF systems do not see psi like MAP systems do.
Another blow through setup advantage is that if you blow a coupler and have to drive with it off, it will still run like normal but no boost. If draw, it will run rich until the coupler is fix.
