Will an hy35 fit on this manifold?(pic)

Post by Coupe92 »

Anyone tried it/used it? I know holsets can have fitment problems. I'd like to use the top mount cxracing one but this is $200 cheaper and seems like it'd be pretty sturdy being cast.

I run my HX with this. It works but it is restrictive.

Define restrictive ^
As in the flowing of the manifold?

Yeah, the mani's exhaust ports are not port matched to the cylinder head. If I use mine I am going to take it to the machine shop to have this done.

Yea I figured that out as I bought it for 79.99 a while ago haha =p just wanted to see if that's what he was talking about. I was hoping I would be able to bring it to my machine shop to see if they could match the ports. I don't think it should be that expensive, and if it's not, then this manifold is perfect for what it ant and I'm sure many others. My hx will be sitting atop of it.

I port matched mine but the internal runners are smaller.

I believe the help from port matching alone will be more than enough to justify the low cost of the manifold. I HOPE that is. It's comforting to know that YOU have been using it; makes me feel my reason for using it will be even further justifiable =p

It holds just fine. Been working since March 2012 with no issues. Just fill in the T4 mounting threads.

Any boost creep issues? I plan on running an hy35 on anywhere from 8-16 psi

Oh and thanks a lot for the replies, good to know I can use this mani when I go holset. Should be soon, can't wait to upgrade from the little isis t25/28

Just realized you posted this, I've seen a lot of your youtube videos so I guess I'm sold. It seems to be working for you.

 No boost creep for me. Yea, I like making videos lol. I am going to change to an equal length mani shortly. I think it should really wake her up.

I will probably let it go for $70 shipped. Shipping will probably be like $25-$30. All I did was port match, filled in T4 holes, and put studs in.

More than worth it IMO. This is the rough draft of the manifold that I know some people, probably more, want. Top mount, forward turbo flange position, simple cast, log style manifold on the cheaper side. They just need a better flowing, port matched version and it would be perfect...again, IMO.

Yes, forward mounted is great. Better BMC clearance. I am switching to the cx racing one so I will be equal length and have a 3 inch downpipe.

Since it is related to the topic somewhat, I'll ask. Do you have any pics of your down pipe position/setup with the HX on that log mani Supa? Been through your build thread, just don't remember seeing any in particular like that. I could be mistaken of course.
