Nissan discontinued ka24de oil pumps...? WTF
So it looks like Nissan isn't making oil pump / front cover assemblies for ka24de's anymore... What are the options? Anyone have a new oem s14 pump they want to sell?

I just checked http://www.courtesyparts.com/ and your right. Weird , because I just ordered one last spring. You should still be able to get one off ebay.

Both Rockauto and another website that typically carries OEM aftermarket uses DNJ. Might be worth e-mailing them to see where they are manufactured.

When I ordered one (DNJ) from Rockauto in February they sent me a used damaged remanufacture (still had gaskets on it).flip240 wrote:Both Rockauto and another website that typically carries OEM aftermarket uses DNJ. Might be worth e-mailing them to see where they are manufactured.
Ended up sending it back for a refund and ordering from Courtesy Nissan.
They even managed to crack the pump gear during assembly.

Well, this sucks. Dammit, Nissan, what the hell are you doing?

DNJ makes some of the worst replacement parts I have ever seen.

I've never actually had one fail or "wear out". I think you can generally just clean/rebuild and be fine.

If youve taken them apart after high mileage the steel gears wear into the aluminum cover, this creates a place for the pump to leak internally and loose pressure/efficiency. This takes 200k+ miles though.
This is also why the 'oil pump rebuild kits' are garbage. The gears are fine 90% of the time unless you had bad things in the motor, the timing cover is what wears

Well that's not cool at all. Has it come to the point already where we are rebuilding cars that the automaker will slowly no longer make any parts for. Its sad.

That isn't too bad considering that they no longer make the front bumper of a 2003 B15.s13240 wrote:Well that's not cool at all. Has it come to the point already where we are rebuilding cars that the automaker will slowly no longer make any parts for. Its sad.
I hope that manufactures continue to make parts for these cars so that they can stay on the roads longer.
Notice I said manufactureS, because lord help us if only one manufacture supports us....

I can't believe that. I work at Nissan and I put a fresh OEM cover on my KA-T this year in April so I'm not sure when they decided to stop making them.
