Undecided

Post by 90s13dude »

So I'm on the fence on doing ka-t. I have built an sr and had an ls1 but never boosted a ka and I'm worried about reliability. So my question is how many of you are running 400-450 reliably? I'm really wanting to build this but need to know what I'm getting myself into.

It is only as reliable as what you put into the car. just make sure you do a lot of studying before you start buying things. The motors are nasty if you do them correctly and will make 400-450 no problem. Just remember that cheap and reliable don't go together.

Oh definitely know cheap don't equal reliable. Just never built a non turbo engine to go turbo before so it seems kinda overwhelming. My target is 400-450. I was gonna go rb but thought why not build this since it's in great shape. I guess I will just keep creeping the pages and get more ideas.

A good oil pump for an RB costs about what it would cost for good internals and machine work on a KA block.

Yea that's why I wanted to build this engine. I figured a rough estimate and if I'm right I can build this engine for what it would cost me to do a pretty much stock rb swap.
