Good Beer... Bad Beer

Post by 240drew »

Ok so im sitting at my computer drinking a coors light then i realize. This taste like crap. I've never really liked coors. But its one of the few light beers i can tolerate. What is your preference on beer. Personally a corona extra or tecante are my favorite as far as full bodied beers go. Light would be either bud lime or coors.

when i go lite its an Amstel or Sams not so much the sams. but amstel is a killer lite. i just love beer so much, i cant think of anything i dont like, and i love stuff that most hate like the cheapies, schafer, shlitz and PBR and the hippy stuff, esp the seasonals.

Like about anything except Rolling Rock and Heiny.

Favorites are local brewed mostly.
Cottonwood Pumpkin Spice is my all time favorite.
Cottonwood Red, Wheat, and Blue is 2nd.

Major brands, bud light lime in the summer if I'm too lazy to cut limes for Corona.
Guiness sometimes
Sam Adams Summer Ale (along with every other Sam Adams flavor)
Blue Moon
Ligenkugels (sp?) Summer Wheat - taste like fruity pebbles

Had a Black and Blue the other day, pretty good. 1/2 Guiness and 1/2 Blue Moon.

play around with it, guinness tastes amazing with everything and nothing IMO. i may enjoy other beers more at times, but if i had to pick, id say guinness is the greatest beer known to man.

My favorite is an import from germany - paulaner. I'm a big fan of their hefeweizen. As for domestic, i like Sam Adams and boulevard wheat. A corona, dos equis, or negro modelo if I'm in the mood for something different.

hefeweizens are pretty good. My favorite beer though is Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome. Only made a coupe months a year. Amazing stuff. They have a lot of others that are really good too. Laterly just been drinking the Sam Adams Boston. Cant go wrong with the champagne of beers on those hot summer days either

I find anything that says ALE on the bottle to be extra tasty, though a bit to rich for full time goodness. Once got a keg of Bass Ale and it made my lips tingle after a few days.

Due to volume/cost, Keystone cans are used for daily libation. When using the kegarateor, Miller Light it the most cost effective at my local. Actually kegs are the most cost effexctive period, just such a PITA to pick up, get in the house and loaded.

Casual get together - Bud Light Lime.
8am - midnight all day binge out on the boat or something of the likes - Bud Select 55
Dinner or a meal - Guiness and Strongbow mix (Crown Float)
Fight Night/PPV - Whatever I can get my hands on

Sometimes on a guys night, we'll hit a local brewery and get a sampler.

But I've been around the world, and had lots of different beers. Hard to say what's my favorite.
And I don't really think there is a 'bad' beer. Someone, somewhere will like it even if you don't. So that doesn't really make it 'bad' just because you don't like it.

If any of you are feeling extra froggy, see if you can find some Hurricane High Gravity or Steel Reserve 211 (High Gravity). Can be had for less than $6 a 12pack and 8.1% alc. (in most states) Taste like beer but has twice the kick and CHEAP. If I would have known about this stuff in my college days, I would have taken a case or two of them (in addition to my drinks of choice) to every party. The freeloaders would be laying about the place by end of night.

Man you are bringing back the old school. Used to drink 40's of that stuff. Nothing like some malt liquor for the price. 211 was no joke

Lucky for you I am a beer connoisseur

1) Innis & Gunn Price: $5.00 per bottle, sold as singles
Brewed in: Canada or Scotland
This beer you will either love it, or absolutely hate it. Its aged in old oak whiskey barrels. It has a flavor of vanilla and oak and I prefer to drink it slowly. Take a sip and let it sit on your tongue for a few seconds.
Image

2) Brahma Price: lil more then average.
Brewed in Brazil
This beer is quite often in my fridge at all times. Smooth, good, clean, crisp, all the things you look for in beer.
Image

3) Okanagan Springs. Price: pending location. Brewed in British Columbia = cheaper in BC.
Simply a good beer that goes down easy with not too much aftertaste. Several flavors available from Okanagan Springs, but all are good!
Image

4) Kronenbourg. Price: Little more then average sold often in 6 packs
Origin: France (probably when the Germans occupied France before they were cheese eating surrender monkeys. Only good product that comes from France. Goes down real nice.
Image

5) Tiger Price: can't remember
From Singapore. Little bite to it, but overall really good. Not enough to make you sick of it.
Image

5) Rickards Red Price: average
From Canada, and its simply the best average beer around here. Drink ice cold in 22oz or bigger while watching hockey
Image

6) Asahi Price: about average
Probably the best from Japan. AVOID SAPPORO !
Image

I am missing a few beers from my list because I cannot remember what they were called. I have had a lot of singles in search for the best beer, these are what I can remember. I spend about $2000+ on beer per year btw, hence why my car is still not finished yet.

OK, so in search for something to drink while watching speed (since my girlfriend took my car and her keys with her and conveniently we were out of beer). I found a bottle of hpnotiq (hypnotic) Yea, its kinda a chick drink but it tastes like twister (the old juice) I drank the whole bottle over the course of watching Mecum auto auction on speed for 2 hours... That stuff killed me the next morning.
