Knock sensor upgrades?

Post by Hot_Wheelz »

Hey has anyone here upgraded their knock sensor? I did a search but like 35 pages of stuff on knock sensors came up. I'm prepping my ka for turbo next fall just wondering if I should keep the stock sensor or if there is an alternative plug and play sensor I can buy.. Thanks!

considering the stock knock sensor is tuned for our block, you should keep that.

There also aren't very many convenient/inexpensive options to go with. The best advice would be a knocklite and a fresh sensor... but even that should be treated with a high amount of caution. Otherwise you are looking at around $1000+ knock sensing solutions...

Alot of nissan engines from the same era use the same KS....the difference has to do with the ecu and how it filters the signal.

If you have a standalone, you can run a different KS...

Thanks. I'll be running mega squirt 3 when I go turbo. Just wondering what people were running. If stock is fine then perfect lol less money spent.
