What's good everyone.
Name is Paul, own a 95 s14, KA n/a auto. Obviously looking to change that about the car lol.
Recently I bought a used KA24 semi built and I am currently at the process of making sure everything is good to go..
If anyone with similar setup or experience could point out some directions/threads that would be great.
It has k1 rods, arias pistons, arp hardware, unknown metal headgasket, arp head studs, stock head.
A few things caught my attention when I took it apart.
Under the manifold I noticed ports/plugs (possibly was meth/nitro sprayed)
Removed the head and noticed some scratches on cylinder walls, mostly cyl 4 and 2, nothing to deep, but enough to feel it with your nail, not sure if I should worry about that or not. If I should hone it or not.
I work at Nissan and one of the techs said he feels there is too much play from piston to cylinder wall.
Going to contact Arias for specs on piston and measure everything probably by this weekend.
Anyways, back to introducing myself, owned about 3 240s in a period of 5 years, finally just now going turbo.
Hopefully soon, it's always something.

Re: New from FL
You need to know what piston alloy you have. 2618 vs. 4032. To accurately know what the piston to wall clearance is, you need the spec sheet on the pistons. Not all slugs are the same.

Re: New from FL
Hey supakat not sure what piston alloy it is, I ended up contacting arias with the numbers from the piston and they sent me all the specs, they also sent me a link in what rings to use, went ahead and ordered them even tho I'm not sure if I will need oversize rings, dropped off the short block at the machine shop today with all the goodies for them to inspect everything. btw any recommendations on machine shops? I'm in west palm area. btw sick videos, what fuel management are you running? I've been considering megasquirt but hear there is not too many places that are familiar with it.supakat wrote:You need to know what piston alloy you have. 2618 vs. 4032.
