Hello from great white North

Post by Datsun510KAT »

I'm a long time reader and first time poster. I'm Jordan and I live in BC, Canada.

I own a 1972 Datsun 510 2 door with a KA24DE swap that I have built and put almost 25,000 miles onto. In recent years, I've been distracted with Skylines and newer S chassis cars. From 2012-2016 I built an RB26DETT powered Zenki S14 and in 2016-2018 I built a Kouki S14 Silvia with an RB25DET. The RB26 S14 is now gone but I am still holding onto the Silvia.

Now I'm finally returning to the first chassis to complete the turbo dream for the Datsun! I've learned a lot since the first engine swap so I believe that I am up for the challenge this time around!

I'm hoping for a reliable 250-275whp in a stock long block KA24DE.

Plan:
Stock S14 longblock (70K miles)
eBay tubular manifold for now. Would like to fab one in future. T2 flange removed for T3
T3 flanged RB25DET Neo internally gated turbo. RB20/early RB25 turbine housing
S13 SR20 ECU on Nistune
R35 GTR or GM LQ9 D585 coil on plug
Mitsubishi EVO 5/6/7 Intercooler (~294x470x65-70mm)
3" SS exhaust
AEM meth injection
BNR32 GTR fuel pump
550cc Bosch EV14 injectors
Radium top feed fuel rail
Nissan R35 GTR slot maf in 3" tube
RB25 Chromo flywheel with Exedy 350Z clutch

How crazy am I??
