Introductions

Post by SHIFT_KA24DET »

I know this sounds Cheesy but now that the site is growing so rapidly I
thought it would be kind of cool to make a Sticky for People to introduce
themselves with a little blurb and a picture about themselves and their car.

I'll Brake the Ice. My name is Adam Jantos I am 18 years old and I live in
Toronto Canada. I have previously had 4 other 240's all Fastbacks, I
Currently own a 1993 Nissan 240sx Coupe with a Silvia front end that I
crashed in Niagara Falls this summer but have gotten back on my feet
and got a new fender, bumper and hood and she's as good as new. I
have had a CA18DET and a SR20DET in my previous cars loved them
both but now am on to something new. KA24DE-t  I work at
BestBuy and do Co-op at NHR Motorsports as an apprentice mechanic.
This winter I plan to Build up a KA24DE and Turbo my Coupe and with my
winter beater a 1989 240sx I plan to enter a few Rallies with Karl Sprongle
my Boss at NHR. Anywho Enough Rambling on about me here is a shot of
myself and a shot of my car In Niagara Falls just before I crashed it.

My name is Kyle Griffin. I am 21 years old. I live in Poplar Bluff, Mo. I work as a service tech for an ISP. I used to work at Best buy 8) . I own 2 240s... a Mederteranian Blue 96 and a silver 89. The 89 i bought 2 weeks ago for 150 bucks in Minnesota.. I had to go get it. The lengths I will go for a fastback! It needs a rebuild... And then use it as my daily driver and use the 96 for my turbo build.

Jordan Gladman < obviously.

Im 19, live in Vancouver, BC.

First car was an 89 honda prelude, 2nd car was an 89 prelude which i learned my first turbo on and what happens when you boost a car with 9.5:1 compression and pencil rods.

I bought some beater 200sx, a hyundai pony and then finally stumbled onto an 89 240sx...

I drove that NA for a few months, developed some crazy rod knock, rebuilt it and turbo'd that, in June my sister smashed the front end and i ended up buying a 2nd 240, i put my motor in there and thats the car im racing right now.

2 weeks ago, i got a 3rd 240, cracked rear control arm mount and some rust, missing headlights, flat tires and no exhaust. Should have that up and running soon.

Misc pics.

Daniel Mullins
21, Florida

First car was my dad's 89 Toyota pickup truck, 4x4, 5 speed, 22R-E motor. Repainted, polished mag wheels. Learned to drive.

Then I got a 1993 Toyota Camry LE Auto 5s-fe. slow as balls. Did I/H/E, suspension, kosei k1's, stereo stuff, typical high schooler "want to be admired/cool" setup. did research and designing for a planned 3s-gte motor swap, but didnt have enough money, so since 3s-gte oil pan, turbo manifold, ct-26 all fit on 5s-fe motors, was gonna just turbo the 5s-fe at about 4psi for fun, and swap in a 5 speed. well the auto tranny was starting to take a dump so i sold it. i miss it dearly.

got the 1997 nissan 240sx that i have now. ran the crap out of it from 58,000 back in 2001 (got it for $9000 w00t!!!) to the current 115,500 it has (got me an oil change today too). disintegrated a clutch at 64,000, new oem clutch still holding up today, basic maintenance. threw on sway bars, FSTB, and t/c rods, z brakes, and ripped out obd2/egr/evap/emissions ****.

currently about 3 weeks out from having all turbo related parts (minus a better clutch), and a spare motor in the garage waiting for 2005 to roll around for a spring rebuild hopefully. thanksgiving is first planned install date, if not probably will have to wait til after finals.

plenty of KA-T support down here in florida, huge nissan scene in orlando and tampa, and im smack dab in between in BFE with all the hills and curvy roads (which florida has few of to start with).

i also love porno, strippers, crack, walks on the beach nude, and being an asshole.

Name's Derek, I'm 19. Was born and raised in the Bothell/Mill Creek area of Washington (about 15 mins north of seattle). But going to school/sorta living in Ireland (for 8 months out of the year)

My first car was a 1987 4 door honda civic, the only cool thing about that car was that it was a 5 speed. So it was an awesome car to learn how to drive on. Oh and it was really fun to put plastic trays under the rear wheels

I bought my 240sx 3 summers ago. When I bought it I knew nothing about how to really work on cars, but that all changed with the help of my dad. Bought the 240 with a blown engine for 600 USD, so I swapped in a working KA24DE. Did some suspsenion and other mods and drove it around like that until September of 2003 when I started on my KA-T project. I did it for my senior project, so I had to space it out over the year. I basically learned everything during the whole build up process.

Image

*since then I've cut my hair and shaved 8)
Finally going to re-do this project!

My name is Jared, Im 19 and I live in Tsawwassen, BC and I like to spend my spare time in Gladman's garbage looking for car parts  (I live 10 mins away)

Ive had two preludes, a celica, and now I have my AWD DSM and 89 S13 KA24E-T. I work for an italian restuarant and do a bit of work for Jordan as well. Im new to the whole 240 thing, you can probably tell by reading my posts

This is my 240 (Jordans old one) which is running 4 psi on a TD05H 14B with a DSM sidemount intercooler... Ive had it for less than a week but its definately on its way to becoming the perfect car for me. Im re-doing the whole turbo kit and currently looking for all new suspension and an LSD 8)

Image

I just started this website to keep me out of trouble... plus people can read updates about the car. I forget everything I used to know about HTML so the site has nothing on it yet... just a pic of the car!

Howdy, I'm Gus. My first vehicle was an '86 Blazer and that thing RULED. I miss it, but would never trade it for my 240. I'm on my second chassis after eating a guardrail a couple of months ago. Uhm, turned 21 Tuesday and I manage a Cingular Wireless store so if there's anything I can do for you lemme know. Anyway, this is me hard at work and my car. I pulled the KA from my old shell and eventually stumbled onto ka-t.org

hey guys i just registered a few days ago after searching on this forum awhile. i wanted to put some boost to my 240sx, but i thought the sr20 was a little too played out. i finally decided to turbo my SOHC. i found out about jordan gladman and i just ordered my manifold from him yesterday. i will be using his set-up for a base for mine and let me say it is really impressive. i look foreward to building this motor over the winter and will keep you guys updated on the process. i would post up some pics of my ride but my digi cam went bad on me. if anyone is in central PA check out www.turboforum.net that is where all the local stuff goes down.

My name is Kyle, I am 17 years old and bought my car last year. I am a DIY mechanic where I taught myself everything I have done(Get it drive-able as i bought it for $700 and had to fix everything) so far as my dad had never picked up a wrench nor has any of my friends. I drive an 1989 240sx coupe with 220 000 Km's stock everything except 300zx FF. I work 2 jobs while finishing grade 12.
I have a 87 Toyota CT-26 I'm going to fit onto the KA24E I bought with 138xxx km's and tranny with a Stage 2 centerforce clutch for $460 CAD. Along with a 38mm Tial wannabe wastegate

PCs later...

My intro.

Post by Covertpolarbear »

Well, Im chuck, 21, live in Houston tx.

The first car i owned was a ford tempo.. sold it, then bought a nissan 200sx, sold it, and then bought my car, a 1990 SOHC 240sx.

Here is me.. and my story

Image

I owned my car for about 3 months.. and the timing chain tentioner snapped, and dinged around in my timing cover for a while, then the tensioner shredded in the oil pan.. overheated the car, and its been sitting in my garage for a few weeks now.. Im rebuilding the motor (as money permits).. just a basic rebuild.. not an excessive amount of money going to be invested... I plan on (if gladman ever gives discounts, or has a extra, or if someone has one for sale) getting the T3 bottom mount manifold, and get around 200whp.. I plan on having my car Back up and running by january.
ill have pics of the car up asap.. i just need to compress them.

yeah i thought i posted an introduction already but i must not have. anyways my name is Rob, i live in bothell WA. i am a Honda technician, so yeah I'm kind of new to Nissan. i bought my 89 240 bout 2 weeks ago for $900 to replace my 92 accord (lucky car #8). like most i was ll hyped up on the sr20 swap, when a friend of mine (known hear as "drift machine") referred me to this site. it didn't take long for me to realize that i could save myself a lot of trouble by building my sohc. so yeah that about where i stand now. until i can get some positive income my car will remain stock, planning on building a pretty beefy motor if i can figure out what i need. so if i post any stupid questions just assume I'm drunk and disregard it.

thanks,

I'm Alex from Austin, TX. I'm 25.

My previous car list (in order):
1986 BMW 318i 5sp STOCK
1995 Firebird Formula M6 1LE STOCK
1993 RX-7 VR Touring, Auto I/D/E
1993 RX-7 VR R1, M5 I/D/E, clutch, man boost controller
1999 Honda Civic Si, EBP, M5
1993 RX-7 MB Touring, M5, lots of stuff (http://team503.nivenhuh.net/fd)
1992 240SX

The last FD got totalled, used the payoff to buy my bike and the S13 - I wanted something that spent more time on the road than in the shop and didn't cost me a car payment to maintain. I plan on picking up another FD as a project sometime, but I'm in no rush.

I don't have any decent pics of the S13, but the ones I do have, and the ones of me are on my webspace - http://team503.nivenhuh.net
'92 S13 stock other than Eibachs/KYBs, KA24DE-T in the works

Introducing myself

Post by nissanfanatic »

Hi I'm Cory. I'm 18 years old and out of school. I drive a 1992 240sx that I got at the beginning of my senior year of high school. I bought it with 117k and turboed it at 134k. Everything I know I have learned on this and other forums. My setup is:
Garrett T04B .60ar compressor w/ S-trim wheel:.69ar turbine w/P trim
Revhard manifold
Import-autoperformance oil lines
Turbonetics evolution wastegate
Greddy Type S blow off valve
Vortech 8:1 FMU
PVC intake plumbing
Ford Mustang SVO intercooler
Custom 2.5 downpipe
ACT heavy duty pressure plate w/organic disk
K&N filtercharger cone filter
Apexi N1 exhaust
Autometer boost, A/F, oil pressure gauges
Toyos on stockers with open diff.

I'm running 5psi. The car is pretty fast now with traction issues in all of first and quite a bit of second if I shift too hard. It will get squirley in second. LOTs of fun. I installed everything myself. My car has never been to a shop. This forum is awesome. Keep up the good work.

Hey there

I'm Ian, a 24 year old Mech Eng graduate. Soon I will be looking for a clean (southern?) s13 coupe, and hope to eventually turbo it

I've been lurking here for a while, so I figured that I might as well register
I will save myself embarrassment and not list my cars ;)
