KATT dyno now 401hp @ 25psi !!!

Post by p00t »

Scroll down for new video/updates

Took the car to RT last week to get my first numbers.

@15psi:

I should be good up to 25psi on these turbos. Waiting for my enthalpy retune so I can run the 850cc injectors I just picked up.

Only difference from my build post is I put the stock s13 cams back in for right now.

Boost is plotted with the AFRs on the bottom graph for those who were curious. I am getting around 10hp per PSI gain, feels very strong when I increase boost.

Cams are holding it back once you swap them it should be impressive.

Well see, they didnt feel that great. When I advanced the intake cam they seemed to gain power, but the low-end turned completely to ****.

seems similar to a single turbo graph at the same psi.ofcorse lag doesnt even look like its there which is cool but what kind of #'s are u expecting at 25 psi?400whp???u got a little lean there around 4000 on 15 psi im thinking ur gonna have to tune that out a little with the boost increase.
i bet that thing has instant throttle response...... 8)

My goal is around 450, but clearly with just 10 more PSI i won't get there. I will prob mess with cams/intake manifold to get there. Been seeing some magical things happening on these boards in regards to them.

Throttle is pretty good yea. I just wished there were more big turbo graphs with the intake boost pressure graphed. Would be a good comparison.

That is very impressive for just 8psi and for 15 it is even better. Yeah I the cams are holding you back, but hey this is the first running KA24DE-TT that is showing numbers so hey this is new ground.

Alright so now I did get a video but I am not sure on the dyno sheets. They claimed they would email me them... but who knows.

I don't think the torque figures you see in the video are right, they did not hook the RPM pickup up... but I could be wrong.

I did a pull at 15psi to get a point of reference vs my previous dyno, and they were close, so HP should be right.

I will go back to RT at some point this month with the BC cams in and see if there's any improvement.

Sorry the camera man is fixed on the driverside quarter panel... I think the wheel was hypnotizing him...

get rid of that greddy and get hks or tial, that greddy is not good for that much hp i've been told.(my friends car hits some sort of limiter due to the rs not holding boost past 17psi, and it would leak at idle so idle would be really crappy, it got replaced and now most of the idling issues are gone)

Somehow you compensated for reduced VE and higher compressor temps all in the blink of an eye... You've got talent.

TheOne are you talking about a BOV? I'm using a Forge Motorsport recirc type. I have different springs for it also.

Saw this setup and the dyno. It was friggin sweeet! Congrats on the numbers again!

(Btw, I'm not exactly expecting the dyno sheet to get emailed my way either... but you should let me know if you get yours.)

I have the lower q45 gearing, and even with that 2nd is breaking loose pretty good by 20psi. Boost builds linearly, not in a sudden rush, so its a little bit easier to modulate if you know your about to break traction.

Any amount of throttle for even a second or two usually sends you well over the speed limit....Definitely needs a brake upgrade...

I got ahold of the dyno sheet and finally sat down and fixed it (converted #'s)

Ive double checked and the numbers and they look ok. I don't have the car with me at the moment (moved).

Here's the old chart if you want to look. http://www.pulsetune.com/pichost/dyno/25psiTT.pdf
Note that my rev limit is 7k....

Image

Everythings on hold for now, but as soon as I can get back to the car I'll dyno it with the BC v2 cams. Won't be for a while though.

Just wanted to get an actual chart out there.

It has a decent amount of boost at that point, but it doesnt get to 25 till about 4200 on the road.

If you look at the 15psi dyno you can see the psi slope charted with the fuel/air. Builds a little slower on the dyno vs the street.
