Tuned it to 24psi, but **** runs...

Post by nissanfanatic »

Well I took my car to the track tonight for the first time in six months. I am now running a Hallman boost controller which works great. I ended up getting the car to 24psi. Too bad my runs sucked.. I spun too bad in first and second or bogged really bad. It was bad enough that it ***** my trap speeds up. I ended up trapping a best of 118mph and a best ET of 12.8.

On a happier side note, the car feels really fast from a third gear roll. It will actually spin third all the way to 80mph, but not bad enough to affect acceleration too badly. Its a blast.

any more feedback on the hallman?
Which model?
Does it hold boost then open at set PSI or does it let the gate open a little bit before desired psi.

I think I have his whole old setup, minus that damn boost controller lol

I've heard good things about it, and wouldn't mind trying one out myself if I wasn't such a 'DIY' guy.

figured I would search and use an existing thread rather than getting blasted for making a new one with a topic that was covered already

Well it wasn't covered...thats why you got flamed for bringing up an old thread. Cory drives an S2000...not sure wtf happened to his KA-T.

While I'm here I'[l give you a quick review of the Hallman PRO RX boost controller. It works well and I really glad I got the in-car boost control knob. I have a 10psi spring in the Tial 38 and the "heavy spring" in the Hallman to go 10psi+ above the wg spring pressure. I have turned it up to 23 no problems holding. Overall a reliable option that works well.
