aem ems(4-27-12) Help me get this car started

Post by Berserker »

Alright my question is to you guys that set up aem ems.
ok my set up.

-165lb injectors with resister box installed
-maxima coils
-AEM EMS S1
-Omni GM 4bar Map sensor
-E85

So all day today I was messing around with the Ecu and changing settings, and no luck on getting the car started, did not even feel like it was going to.

Things I did:

-I chose start up calibration 1610 MAP 240sx/altima.
-Set it to 4bar map

Changed fuel settings:
-chose 250cc and 11 ohms stock injectors.
-Then changed the flow to 250cc @ 3 Bar(old) to 1695cc @ 3 Bar(new)

Ignition:
-Turned on Coils #2 ,#3 ,#4
-got Ignition phasing from the sticky(On our forum) of LS1 coils write up.
-Used RosadoRacing Maxima dwell settings:
viewtopic.php?t=55729&postdays=0&postor ... s&start=20

Proly missed something else. For start up on e85 I have to add some fuel?
Also my car would not even fire up with starting fluid which kind of tells me that my coils are not firering right?
Let me know what else I missed in setting up for start up.

If that's it Ima punch my self in the face.
I would just tow it and get it tuned and call it good, but I have to put in New clutch and break it in, that means I have to get it running.

From what I saw today, looks like countless hours of struggling ahead of me.

With e85 you need to add alot of fuel down low for the car to stay on or even start. I seen many maps where at -11 to -8 vac 500rpm-1000rpm the numbers are .36 .50 even .20 my car wont even start or stay on with those numbers mine is around 1.14 1.26 1.44 etc. So try adding alot of fuel before 2k and in the high vac area. I also have 1600cc injectors.

What value do you have for mx sync test? I have a stock cas and the stock map was set at 8. I would crank all day no stat sync. I called AEM tech support, sent him a few data logs of the car cranking and he made me change it to 9, and stat sync immediately came on. I doubt this is your problem. Make sure you have your timing set up also.

OK, I did some updates on firmware, put in stock CAS DISC and I was able to finally start the car. I did not see the option cam/cas "distributor with AEM 24-1 CAS DISC"

Idle is iffy, had to add alot of fuel to keep it running. idles close at 2k ganna have to work on that.
