'91 Coupe vs. '07 WRX Sti stock

Post by The_Doctor »

This is not your normal drag thread.
If it was, it would be uninteresting and stupid...since I have 0 engine mods.
160hp vs. 300hp is no contest in that regard

This was a road race (touge if you want to be SUPER JDMTYTE/wrong)
Most of you might be saying "On the street! What are you thinking?"
I don't give a ***** what you think, in our minds we were taking the necessary precautions.
It was 3:30am on a remote road with 0 cars on it. We both know this road very well, it is our number 1 place to go driving. It is a 2 lane road but the lanes are very wide with pullouts and shoulders throughout. It is about 2.5 miles long (the fun part that is).

So we do a 20mph roll-on start to keep the noise down (plus he is AWD 300hp and that would of sucked for me)
He instantly put about 6 cars on me by the first turn. I gained about a 1/2 car consistently on each turn throughout the race.
By the last 4 turns, I was within a car length of him. I swung out on the next turn because it was a nice sweeper so I had a good amount of room to pass, also the turn following was immediately after. I managed to get in front of him and we ended the race after the last turn.

I wouldn't say I am a better driver than him, he has been driving longer than me and can judge turns better. The reason I won was because I was following his pace (maybe a bit faster because I am CRAZZZZY )
The car did the rest. I love dem new tires. BTW the STI was completely stock with 225/45R17 Bridgestone Potenza RE070 Summer tires with like 6k on em.

So....much more exciting then all this Drag Racin'

It is but its not safe.
I did 360 going 90mph + perfectly within 2 lanes. Best seconds of my life.

And worst seconds of your life?

Yeah, it was definitely dangerous but we at least were only a danger to ourselves :P
