S14 ka-t vs mazdaspeed3

Post by BoBaCk1 »

Well me and my cousin were cruising along late last night looking for a run and saw this ms3. We were looking for bigger fish but I'm down to race anything. So I tell him to downshift into 3rd and bait him in. Well he bites as soon and we get close we both take off and the car instantly jumps. Plug 4th and the car pulls away harder then a little of 5th and let off about I don't know a bus and a half up haha maybe more.
So we line up again at 40mph and my cousin decides to put it in 3rd I said what the hell are you doing he says giving him chance lol. I said ***** it then make it fun. So at 3rd honk he jumps maybe 3 cars while I'm waiting for my car to spool ( 2800 rpm start on a 6262 turbo haha.) but at the top of 4th catch him and blow by him in 5th.

Funny thing is I didn't record it but found out to day he recorded it and posted it on a local forum. My buddy calls me up to tell me haha. Well here's the video.

ha thats funny you ended up finding a video. how much boost are you running and about what RPM does it make it? i kinda want an obnoxiously large turbo for highway fun, but our drift track is tight.

edit: found your dyno. that MS3 is pretty damn quick then!

This is a new setup I just got running. I never dynoed it.. I'm running a 6262 at 14psi with e85. I don't know what rpm it spools at but I think the e85 makes it spool pretty quick because it doesn't take much to spool this up. I'm running my setup backyard style haha. I got nismo 740's which I thin are maxed out but not sure and it was running at 10:1 afr in full boost. Literally just got the car running 3 days ago with this setup.

I got same turbo, and I made 400whp on 14psi, before I kicked up the psi. Just a reference. 19 psi was 490, this was on e85. This turbo is great :-)

Thanks guys. Yeah I'll try and see where it hits. I love this turbo. Damn 400hp at 14psi you got me excited lol. But I couldn't even redline on these runs. I was shifting at 6700 when redline is 7500. It's either spark blowout or fuel issue In top end.

does it "break up" i would guess gap over fueling problem. although it wouldnt hurt to rewire your fuel pump.

Yes it seems like spark blowout. I'm gapped at 25 right now. But e85 is a whole other beast. Probably doesn't help that it's running so rich. My fuel pump is already hard wired. But I need a retune for my nistune. It runs 18:1 afr at idle and 10:1 in boost.
