seems expensive for a standard HD steel rod to me. $1000 bucks for a set...

You're probably just paying for the Nissan Motorsports name.

Will those rods handle a beating? Yes, they have been run in race motors and are proven.
Are they worth the money? I would say they are one of those parts people will buy because the name and the proven record of them is there, but compared to regular Carillos, Crowers, AMS beefcakes...you can probably get by with those.

yea that's exactly right...... I paid for the motorsports name not because the name, but since I already had pistons ordered for the custom length..... better rod/stroke ratio etc. If i knew my pistons were gonna take so long, I'd custom order another set of crowers like last ones

So, it is a longer rod with a shorter pistion? if it still comes to be the same length, why would this be a better set up?

correct me if i'm wrong but i think it has something to do with piston dwell giving a better burn, something a guy i worked with told me

from http://victorylibrary.com/mopar/rod-tech-c.htm

The ratio between the connecting rod length and the stroke length of a motor greatly affects the way it performs, and how long it lasts.

thanks, that some intersting info.

It would be cool to see a comapission between the 2 rod and piston combos. and see what kinds of differances there are. power wise ect.

you won't see power diferences between the 2 set ups. The longer rod theory is just that, a theory. Anytime a magazine tests rod lengths, the results are inconclusive. Different engine builders have different opinions on the perfect rod/stroke ratio. The ka already has long rods for the stroke. Plenty of other places to spend money.
