well, looks awesome as always... but only takes one track day to look like "why did i even bother" lol mine used to look juuuust like that. you should REALLY REALLY get arms! stock essentric has all of 1.5* total, unless your running around truck status your going to need more range to get a happy alignment.

You know, I was thinking about that, especially since I don't have the dust guards anymore lol. But to tell ya honestly, while I do like the look of how it all came out, the main reason I did this was to prevent further deterioration & rust. Having friends that were like "oh, you should coat this too", didn't help either!

But onto your arm suggestion. Are you talking about all the arms? I'm not sure how I'm going to set the car up for the few tracks I plan on running it on. This thing will probably never see a drift event, mainly road courses. NYS has 2 that I'd really like to try out - NY Safety Track and Watkins Glen.

Either way, if I do ever go full custom, I was thinking about getting these: http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/page.php?14

if u got the cash, PBM is pretty much the best of the best and cheaper than say an SPL. they redesign their parts often and clearly engineer everything. with all that said i wouldn't hesitate to just buy ISIS ones ( http://carnewscafe.com/wp-content/uploa ... gender.jpg ) and fresh heims from midwestcontrol or aurora if you got the monies. knowing the caliber of your efforts here, i just cant picture you getting ISIS lol. you could even coat them! i bought a set of "motoria arms" in 2007 and have been totally happy with them (have done the heims). if your going to do it, just get them all. all 3 in the back and the front tension rod. you can even do some trick stuff and tune your rear camber curve via the traction arm. i also like to experiment and adjustable arms makes that really easy.

Excellent. I'll look into these options as soon as the need arrives. I'd really like enjoy the car in it's current form for a little while. Get some kills on the street ;) I totally forgot what the S-chassis feels like stock, let alone in this state. I got to know my Impreza very well over the years and how it handles. Switching back for the summer is going to be weird! Either way, thanks for your reply! I may hit you up again on this in the near future :)

That really looks great...I bet it gets your enthusiasm going when you see those coated parts to keep the car up!

I have a question, when you installed your ES bushings, how do you torque them? I've noticed over the years with ES and Moog poly bushings that the OEM torque ratings won't work due to the stiffer bushings. So I just torque them until I get a bit of 'squish' to them.

Is there a more accurate way? I know with OEM bushings that brackets (sway bar, etc) always have metal to metal contact w/the frame but it takes alot of torque with poly bushings to get the same metal to metal contact and not deform the bushing.

Just curious, thanks!

Thanks dude and yes it does. Keep you motivated for sure.

Instructions say to use the factory specs so that's what I did. The new inner sleeve should be the same length as the bushing, so when torqued down, it should be bottoming out on that instead of the bushing itself. Unless you messed them up during installation. I accidentally "stretched" the bushings on one of my rear LCAs during installation, causing the inner sleeve to be sort of recessed in the bushing. So when I torqued that down, there was a bit of squish. They said to grease any bushing-to-metal contacts so that's what I did, even on the mounting points on the subframe and knuckles.

doood how gross is that ES provided grease in the lil yellow tubs. that **** gets everywhere. looks doppppe. i dont think theres any "worse" mods on a 240 than revamping that rear sub frame, great feeling to have it all done.

That ish was nasty! It took me nearly 2 days to get my hands to feel clean again. Assembly grease is probably the nastiest thing I've touched so far during this project lol. And I couldn't agree more on that last comment. What a journey this has been! I dove into it not really knowing WTF to do lol I did a bunch of reading on here and Zilvia and went to town on it.

Fkin slow man. Got into RC helicopters and quickly moved my way up the ladder into the hobby grade ones, so that's all I did last summer. I'll be putting in time on this build this year. I'm tired of dreaming. I need to get this ish done and drive it already!

Nah, people kept trying to get 'hooked up' and expected to pay flea market prices for quality work so I gave up on that.

BTW, this build is picking back up today! Expect updates soon :)

Started ordering parts again last week:

- Driveshaft Shop 1-piece drive shaft

- 52mm Autometer oil pressure, oil & water temp gauges & single gauge pod which will house my AEM boost / AFR 2-1 gauge

Image

- 3D printed center dash radio trim with 3x 52mm ports for said gauges:

Image

- A set of mint Zenki fogs:

Image

- new dash defroster grille (old one disintegrated upon removal)

Image

I started assembling the fuel system yesterday, still waiting on a couple fittings:

ID1000s with 14mm hats:

Image

Changed em over to 11mm for the AEM fuel rail:

Image

Image

Used this to lube it up, it's for my RC trucks :)

Image

After battling with the bottom O-ring I gave up and called Treadstone to get some clarification. At 1st, I was told that they should fit, they put me on hold and return saying I should be using the compression O-rings that came with the kit. So I did:

Image

You will NOT need the big O-rings that sit in the intake manifold to run these injectors:

Super glad I bought the tools to assemble the AN fittings. Makes it so much easier:

I hope to have the rest finished this week.

It's all so clean and purdy. Nice work. I'm digging the 3D printed center panel. Did you design/print it yourself? I've been heavily into 3D printing since February and it's been a fun and educational journey.

And that AN tool from Kool Tools is a huge time saver. Love those things.

Thanks man. Slowly chuggin along here. I bought that center panel off eBay. Sadly, the seller pulled all of his listings for them as soon as I bought mine. I'd like to get my hands on a 3D printer some day. There are so many things I'd like to print out!

Yea those tools are awesome. I bought a nice cutter than cut up to -10AN. That's how I got that clean cut in the picture :)

Thanks. Yea, only a matter of time before it's dirty again lol

Onto progress! Re-installed most of the interior and finished up the fuel delivery. It was fun trying to put the interior back together, which I didn't document or label at all since I removed it all 5 years ago... Lucky for me the 240 only has like 2 types of screws/bolts holding the interior together. As for the fueling system, I just need to clock the regulator vacuum fitting towards the source on the manifold and install a vacuum hose. Here are some lame ass pics from today:

This weekend I plan to start installing all the power steering stuff I bought 2 years ago. While fiddling around with the P/S, I'd like to drop my transmission off to get rebuilt/resealed but I'm unsure where I should go. I posted in local forums for recommendations so hopefully I'll hear back soon.
