And i told myself NOT to buy until i found what i was looking for.... And it finally came up and it was in my city for a hell of a price and i could not turn it down... so i snagged itkoukidriver wrote:Nice I was looking for a d21 or a frontier myself looks good. Well my 1st mod was a set of maxima electric fans... Removed that loud a** clutch fan and pulled out the shroud...
Installed the fans on low speed only for now until i can install my water temp gauge so that i can monitor my temps and see if i need to put them on high speed... My altima fans on my 240 work just fine on low speed even with boost so im sure its fine on this n/a ka...
Then get myself a 185 deg therm switch so that they are not running ALL the time with ignition as they are now... having them run while on the hwy doing 55+ mpg is not needed, thats what ram-air is for...
Then rig them to also kick on with a/c cause this truck did not come with an electric fan from factory... only a clutch fan.

I am under the impression that having the fans on will create a low pressure zone inside the bumper/radiator/(intercooler) which will aid in forcing air into the engine bay. Rather then air wanting to just go around the car/truck.
The mechanical fan doesn't stop moving at highway speeds, it spins freely, at a rate of minimal resistance. This is good because it balances out the wind forces trying to get into, or around the vehicle. The fan is merely suggestive of wind flow.

well from my experience... Ram air works well... Even the radiator shops & manufactures of electric fans say that fans done need to be on while cruising at hwy speeds cause thats what the ram-air's job is for...Truck wrote:I am under the impression that having the fans on will create a low pressure zone inside the bumper/radiator/(intercooler) which will aid in forcing air into the engine bay. so here is the question... does it spin faster upon idle and just slows down as speed increases...??The mechanical fan doesn't stop moving at highway speeds, it spins freely, at a rate of minimal resistance. A free-spinning fan can't aid airflow. It can only hinder it.

Hey man nice ride, pretty handy the trucks come in lower compression
I kept my gay ass tool box for the sleeper effect... and also to store all tools and **** in.
Too bad its an auto, but you can swap to 5spd when the torque converter explodes due to 30psi lol

thanx... I plan to turbo it cause that 4 cyl is dragging big time. It's an auto which is heavy, then it's pulling 3700 lbs ....schmauster920 wrote:Hey man nice ride, pretty handy the trucks come in lower compression
