I thought about running an open downpipe also. I know it would sound nice at higher boost levels WOT.

My current setup is 3' all the way back, no cat, 1 resonator. So its pretty much the same.

Tried looking at the video, says its still being processed.

Just speculating, possible leak in the manifold. I have heard a lot of people having sealing issues with the godspeed version.

I got a cheap 3 inch cat back as well. It quiets up a bit. I just like how an open down pipe sounds idling.

What made you speculate leak in manifold?

A buddy of mine bought that mani and had sealing issues. Idled just like the video. Not saying yours is leaking, but it could be. A few others on zilvia have had the same problem. My buddy ended up just welding his up. Assuming you have the throttle screw already adjusted?

Have you tried putting other turbo back on? It was running correct before right? Grounds all good?

Maybe it is electrical....battery related

Nothing is wrong with the car. I don't have an IACV on the car anymore. It will idle low/rough for a little bit for like 30 seconds then be stable like the vid. The unsteadiness of the revs is me trying to keep the revs around 1k to calm the beast down. I have had this mani on since September as well.

I can see where people could have leaks where the plenum bolts up to the runners. If these people were smart, they would have made a gasket for it and sprayed it with copper spray like I have done.

Video of her idling smooth.

c_mancuyas8, is right. Dust cover for dizzy once I go CNP (Coil Near Plug).

I am using a DW300 in tank with an external Bosch 044 pump.

To go e85, supporting fuel pumps, injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and an ecu tune are a must. Since most of this stuff is something you are going to buy anyways, it is not that bad of an upgrade.

Thanks for the compliment guys. You know videos will be up once I get her all done and my review on the HX35. I am going to weld my dump tube today and hopefully start getting measurements for the down pipe tonight.

I hope your right! I finished the dump tube last night. Sucks that I cannot drive the car over to my inlaws because of the downpipe or else progress would have been faster. Should start mocking the downpipe tonight and get my coils today. Will post pics.

I will also be interested to see how the clutch holds up both with the current disc/pp then with the 350z clutch when and if it comes to that as I will hopefully be in the same power region.

Yea. LS2 coils off of some truck.
c_mancuyas8 wrote:Hell yeah man that looks really good. Are you welding your own downpipe?
Yea. The main reason why I am way behind on fabbing it up. Work, kids, wife and no time.
adamky wrote:Can't wait to the finished COP setup. Keep up the good work!
Thanks adam. I am contemplating how to mount them. On the intake mani or firewall. Looks like I am going to sell my Accel wires so I can buy a set of wires to make the CNP complete. With the stock wiring on the coil, it saves me time having to solder the common wires together, grounds and 12+. Just to solder 1 and 4 coils together and 2 and 3. Then
solder the signals to an existing wire in the harness. I am going to use the swirl control valve wires on the back of the head.

Thanks. At the beginning of time I only wanted 400whp. I threw 20psi with the 60-1 and capped out around 460whp (unsure as I used Virtual Dyno and it said 484whp). So now my goal is to be close to 500whp but no less than 475whp and a low to mid 11 second timeslip. Z32 will go in when I grenade this S14 tranny or win the lottery. Which ever comes first.

I did some line up today. I need to come off the turbine with a 45* left then a 45* right and a 90* down and should be good.

were you using that cast manifold with the 60-1? dont you think that manifold its going to be a problem making 500whp? just wondering because i bought a manifold just like that one and i doubt it will make big numbers...

Nope. Cheap eBay equal length manifold in which I got for $30. Only time will tell if the mani holds me back.

People state that these mani's are restrictive. I can see why but I had a discussion with someone about log mani's and WG location a long time ago. Most of them bleed off 3 and 4 cylinders. They stated that with fluid dynamics that regardless of the location of WG, it will bleed off 1 and 2 cylinders effectively. Now in regards to this mani and WG location, is it safe to say that when the WG opens, that it will make the mani less restrictive more or less because I am dumping my WG and not recirculating? It won't be as efficient as a equal length but I do believe I can make it close to my goal. If not, I can always change my setup and keep trying new things.

hopefully you can reach your goal with that manifold, i bought one just like that because i got tired of the cheap tubular manifolds cracking on me.. and i sure want to use that manifold because i like the placement of the turbo, i am going to use an he351

Well I finally got my girl running. Need to retune as it is running rich. I am going to play with it for a bit and as soon as I make a bracket for the ls2 coils, MSPNP time! I also want to see how she feels when I retune it. I got on it a little bit and air is moving but the tune is not. Since this kicks on a little earlier than the 60-1 and MAF is getting different amount of air, I feel the timing is retarded as hell. Won't know until I get a NDS datalog but that is what I feel is happening. Also, the dump tube is loud as hell and BOV is loude as well.

I am going to PBIR to help my brothers friend with pit work. They are doing the 24 hour of lemons. Basically, 24 hour race but it is old cars or something of that sort. Hope I will have fun tonight. Race started at 10am but we are going to help out from 10pm to 3 or 4am.

Finished welding last night. Drove her home and got on it a little bit but was dissapointed. I knew I had to retune it though.

Woke up this morning around 8am thinking how dissapointed I was and took the car out for a quick tune. Just as I suspected, I was hitting cells that the 60-1 did not touch. I advanced timing in those regions and fixed afr's and bam, I am back! Just as everyone says the hx35 hits hard, well they are right.

For one, when boost comes on, it lifts the front harder than my 60-1 did as well as wants to twist the chassis. The car feals way beasty than before with the added torque. As airman, said the HX35 is a good fit for the KA and I am siked out about it. I thought I was not going to be amazed due to stories people have been telling me and how the 60-1 felt but it is a GREAT feeling.

I still need to advance 1-2* to optimize power though.

So what is the current setup? Injectors, tuning, etc etc.

Looks good. Can only imagine what its going to be like on a perfect tune and e85.

BTW when is full boost RPM wise on 20 psi. Looks like 4300-4500 is when it starts moving.

I am trigger happy on a BEP housing for my HX40. I think it will be a good match with my billet wheel.

and super coupe, i bet that housing would make the hx40 sick.. i have the stock hosuing on my hx40 and i LOVE the top end on it.. it is more sluggish than the hx35, but i do have a MUCH larger housing on it.. the top end is insane though

Look on first page or read the thread from the beginning. Don't know when full boost hits yet as I have only made these two pulls with the car.

Yea you did. I was unsure when I first bought it but I feel it is better than my 60-1. It really pulls on top.

Since the car is not dd, I probably won't drive it until Thursday. No big deal. Not enough time between work and home.

I just picked up more corn today. $3.18/gal. I was thinking if I had to buy 93, I would be fubar'ed. 93 is going for $4.05/gal over here.

There are a few differences in our setup but main thing is your running 264's. I am on 248's.

I wonder how well BC cams make spooling better.

According to the butt dyno, the bc 264s killed the sub3k range and shifted the power to the right of that
