Perfect, thats what i needed. And the interrupter switch makes so much sense, way easier than going into TS and turning it off.

The car has been bugging me since I went to Jamaica these past 5 days. I had to disable my boost controller because it was acting up spiking because I ran a longer dumptube. I was hitting 25psi. I redid my wg boost line setup and it seems stable. So I go to fill up and turn up boost. The car is hitting 25psi again steadily in 4th gear with 5% duty cycle in the ecu. Yes, my MSPNP control the wg settings. I hit it in third and fourth and I got that feeling again. I want to hit 30psi but if I cannot 28psi will do just fine.

So are you using the ebc from diyautotune that defaults to lowest boost if not energized? Last I talked to Matt Cramer he said previous firmwares had 100% duty as the lowest boost but they changed it to 0%. This was when I called because I had just gone off old firmware write ups on settings, had it set to 100% lol and was going over 15psi on my stockness. Not sure why your spiking at 5% duty but 0% duty with the ebc I have and the 3.3.2 beta at least will = wastegate spring psi.

Yea, diyautotune ebc. With the previous fw, I had it set right but changing the fw and dump tube changed up the variables. 0% does 20psi. It is pretty stable now again but when the cold comes, it will throw things out of whack again. No big deal. I will just turn up the boost cut so it runs clean. I been driving today with it and getting on it with no issues. The power is back again and put a jetta to shame. I was just driving normal and he punched it in 2nd with no exhaust. You could hear the turbine spooling. He was ahead about half and car then punched it. I mashed and end of second I was 2 cars ahead and hit 3rd for 2 seconds then stopped. He stayed way back after that.

I installed a new black carpet in which I got free from a friend. It is not like the tweed carpet but looks good. I also started getting a new issue with boost about 2 weeks ago. Basically, I kept spiking with the controller off. I then got a used turbosmart ultragate 38 with a 15 psi spring. The issue is still happening but I can still drive it. It runs 15psi till 6k and it goes up to 25psi. I am leaning towards the good ole rubber lines I have are done. They are probably swelling. I ordered a new set of quick connect fittings to use with 1/4 polyurethane tubing. This should correct the issue.

And in the process of this all, I am doing a bathroom renovation. Just need to paint and install new vanity.

Nice to hear of your progress.

Could you touch up a little more detail on the quick disconnect tube for the vacuum lines?

I have had issues in the past of burning up through vacuum lines like every 2-3 weeks on the waste gate back while it was a daily driver.

Basically it is lines like what you use for fridge water lines but make sure the lines are 95a durometer specs. I am testing out so I cannot say.

What's the heat rating on that stuff? I did some quick googling on the "95a durometer" stuff and saw something that said 165*F as being the high end of the range, but I'm sure I was looking at different stuff from what you will be using.

I think I might go with hard lines for all of my vacuum/boost stuff. You hear so often of people having issues with rubber wastegate lines, it almost seems as if running them is a big risk.

Yes it is 165* as you stated. Racelab uses it on a number of their builds so I said I will try it out. My lines can be routed away from the dp plus I have heat wrap on it as well. I only vested less than $20 bucks in this so it is not a big hit if it fails. I have been using rubber vacuum lines for the pass 3 years and is probably why I am spiking. They just need to be replaced. I was gonna do copper hard lines but said I will give this a try first. Copper is softer so it is easier to work with plus you can get a 5ft roll at HDR (Home Depot Racing) for around $6. Just getting the fittings is the challenge and you can rent a flare tool kit from Autozone. Hopefully I can get this squared away this week and test out.

I did some searching and bought this item. It is Cross-Linked Polyethylene (PEX) line. Working temp is 200* so this should be a little better I hope. For $2 for a 5 ft line, even better. It is kind of rigid so the line will not kink but I will see if I can get it to bend how I need to.

Cool dude, yeah make a "lil" write up with like thread pitch for the wastegate type etc I know how to bend brake hardline and also have a tool to flare and another for bending.

I have seen that "nelson racing" dude with some chrome looking stuff, is that what your running?

I just finished the setup but will not be able to test until tomorrow night. As for hard line, that will be my next step if all else fails. If I do I plan on using NPT fittings with copper line. Copper is easier to work with plus the bronze will look good lol. Hopefully this test will pass.

Looking good brotherman. Push lock fittings are so nice to use and they have such a clean look.

I think this may be the route I end up going. This HX40 also happens to have water jackets as well and I'd like to pipe some coolant over to it!

To anyone getting ready to dive into flaring brake line, please stick with a proper double flare. It's only a few extra dollars for the kit with the tooling required to do a double flare. Single flares are weak, and easy to split unless you are a pro (I am not, anyway lol).

Well, the PEX line could not work with my setup so I tried some other tubing but of course failed. It held 15psi just fine initially. I then turned on boost controller and kept spiking. I then shut off the controller and was still spiking. I pull over into a lot and lines were :angry-extinguishflame: ! They melted so I was like time to head home. I ended up going with fuel lines. I had vacuum lines before so these 3/16th lines should last another 3 years.

Then yesterday, took the ski out for a run. Flat seas with 4-6ft swells. Got some nice air but then the waves rolled my ski over breaking the hood and flooding motor out. Basically need to take off carbs and flush motor before I turn back on.

bummer on the ski man! I was thinking of running copper lines like you suggested with compression nuts at the wastegate and running up towards my EBC and then converting back to the rubber fuel line I currently run. OR, using some of my left over braided fuel line with double OEM style fuel line clamps at the wastegate, I imagine that the stainless steel braid would act as a heat shield as well as reduce line swelling.

Also, a quick question. Could I get your timing map, Im going to be shooting for similar numbers but want to use a flex sensor to do a 93/e85 mix, if I ran your timing map, should I retard it slightly considering that?

I would not run my map as the base or any e85 map. Keep the base as a 93 so if the sensor fails and your running 93, it will not default to the e85 maps. It will be easier to adjust timing and fuel with the feature on the software. I would use the feature to get close to my timing values. As for ve/fuel, you will need to do tuning with this feature but of course start of rich so you do not lift the head.

So, this is kind of funny... I watched the videos yesterday and actually had a ka-t dream last night..! In it, I finally had my turbo setup on the car and was actually running my C4 auto trans setup with stalled converter. I was hanging with two other ka-t cars, one of which was yours. I don't remember what the other drivers/owners looked like... I don't even think I know what you look like. But your blue S13 coupe was definitely one of the two cars.

Silly story, I know... but I just had to share it. My doc put me on some different meds this week to help with my insomnia and I've had these crazy, vivid dreams every night.
