Yes, better compound will always work better than a slightly wider tire of the same type. It's drag radial time, especially if you're going to keep pushing it closer to 600whp.

Yea, DR's are next. Nitto 275's should hold. My friend has 265/35R18 and gets decent traction but I can attribute to his low sidewall to be a culprit.

I went out to Street Racing Made Safe and felt pretty good afterwards. I asked this stock looking Evo X to run and had issues on a 20 roll but could see 3rd gear started to reel him in slowly. Not enough real estate to go around him. Did a 40 due to traction issues and same results. After talking to the guy, he was on E85 with a GTX3576R @ 27 psi making around 508awhp. He said he ran 12.1 @ 125 coming out the hole softly. After I heard this, I was happy cuz if I started to pull on him, then I may trap 130 which is mid/high 11's. I then ran the SRT4 which he said was stock turbo with DR's. I then ran the 2014 STI from a 40 and supposedly got him by 4 cars but I think it was 2. I then ran him again from a dig and no traction but ended up going around him by end of the track.

At one point, I blew a lower radiator hose. My father in law and brother ended coming with the part, I threw it on, filled in water, and did two more runs which are the last ones.

Had a fun day and happy with the car. I hope I can say this 6 months from now.

"2 step to let him know I'm game". Hell yeah!

Have you ever blown a radiator hose before? Do you think that you may have lifted the head again?

Yes, pin holes. I don't think I lifted the head. The hose blew after a run and we were actually pushing it forward into the staging lanes. We heard a pssssshhhhhh and steam out the hood. I knew automatically it was a rad hose as my heater lines are fuel line hose. It blew on the elbow in which was soft and pliable from oil on the actual hose. After I fixed and ran again, no issues. I am going to buy new plugs as by the end of the night, they started to blow out more. I will then test and see what's up. But on the way home, it never overheated or had issues so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Update on the blow out issue. Turns out the culprit is the TB. I have to research but I know there are some people who fixed this issue. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showth ... t-leak-fix

I may get a q45 when I put the other intake on. Can't I just use the same size o rings that come in a regular o ring kit? Harbor freight has all sizes.

Yea I am gonna try Harbor Freight Racing. The kit I have home has 9.8mm ID o rings. They are the nitrile ones. My boy has the viton ones as well. I will probably make a video. Trying to make that money lol

I serviced the TB last night. Just need to source a gasket and slap her on. Disassembling the unit is not bad and let you understand the mechanics of it. I ended up not putting on the fast idle lever/spring since I do not use it. I wanted to eliminate as much as I could and this was the only thing I could get rid of. I ended up putting an o ring on the inside but it probably tore due to the nature of the design but I put two oring on the spring side. When the idle bracket sits on it, it will seal. Same applies for the TPS but at least the TPS has a ridge that goes into the TB to push the seals down. After I finished, the TB does not close fast like it use too but still closes completely which I believe should keep the engine alive from letting go at WOT. I never had this issue but just keeping an open mind. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is fixed.

Hmm, that's a little disturbing that it closes slower. I assume that you greased the o-rings before installation?

Yea but could have just been a little fluke. If it poses and issue, I will need to reassess. It closes fast but just does not slam shut like it originally did. It will close fast then like at 5%, it will slow down and close. Not that big of a deal but I think it would help if someone had issue stalling from WOT.

So the TB is almost sealed up. Still have minor leak on TPS side, no biggy. The main issue is still breaking up at 30psi. I believe I have lifted my head again with these Saturn studs. Gonna pick up a set of the KA 220K psi studs from FRSport. Man oh man...the buying parts never stops. There will always be an upgrade waiting to happen.

I can save you over $20 on a brand new set of those studs. Part number 202-4304. PM sent...

I was wondering about head lift when you mentioned blowing the radiator hose. Do you think that head lift could have caused it, or was it just a strange coincidence?

Yeah you put the bug in my head but I did not want to believe it. My bad, I forgot to say you probably sourced the issue.

Just an update. Received the studs from Adamky but probably won't put in right away due to time. The whole blow out issue was a mixture of 2 issues. One, I was probably hitting boost cut at 40psi or blow out at 30+ psi. My boost gauge only shows 30 so anything after that, I am lost. Same issue with Speedo. Secondly, the 12v wire that supplies power to my LS coils was cut but only had a few strands connected. The harness somehow managed to get under the alternator bracket and from movement over time, it started to cut it. What ultimately led me to the issue was when moving the car outta the garage, it shut off. I go to turn on and nothing. Checked fuel pressure and was there. Then I knew it had to be spark. MS was syncing with ECU as when the ignition syncs, the CEL turns off. So then I was I like has to be something with harness which I found and corrected. When you do your own work on your car, you will know what the issue is and no one can tell you what is wrong. Just remember that.

I drove the car all last week. I have to be careful because when someone cuts me or drives bad, I stretch a gear to get away from them but then police will be my next issue. The car is running clean but still a little coolant pressurizing on high boost which I have had this issue before and was head stud related. Oh well, I am not to worried at this point. I wanted to race this Mercerdes AMG C63 cuz this guy was trying to act bad. Just before the light he pulls and I go after him but we had to stop for light. The light turns green and I take off easy waiting for him to punch it. I have in 2nd now with high boost enabled. He doesn't take the bait so I floor it and she gets sideways in a good kind of way. Needless to say, he stayed back. I wanted to see how I would do against him but oh well.

I average 180ish just cruising. It will get up to 187* then drop back down to 175* when the fans turn off. After hard pulls, it will raise to 192ish and drop back down to 175. .

Good vid. She aint goin down without a fight..lol..Sounds very familiar. I ran my old set up in 2014 and some of 2015 pushing coolant when I'd hold it for a good bit in boost. It had arp studs and a felpro but probably not torqued correctly. I had blow out from time to time. I pulled the thermostat and didn't have any over heating issues or water and oil mix. And just 2 days ago I saw a 2013/2014 silver 5.0 with black wheels lowered coming so I pulled out ahead and waiting for him to come up. He stayed back and didn't take the bait. So I pulled from a light and in second gear I made her do the electric slide. After that he dropped back further. Maybe the turbo on my license plates give me away..lol

Yea, we had some family in town from TnT. He likes speed but when it is in another man's hands, I get weary too...

Yes. I had this issue before and re-torqued the head bolts and went away. I probably stretched these about 4 years ago when I was tuning and running against a 600cc bike. No big deal. Easy fix.

Hey there Supakat.I have been reading through this thread or a while now and was just wondering if the parts list at page 1 is a full update of what you're running now. I am using your thread as inspiration to a build of my own with a GT35R.
