yea it does take alot of time to make sure the clamp is on the valve while not damaging the head then making sure the keepers stay in when releasing the clamp. this usually requires at least two people in order to make sure you do it right. with this tool, just you and yourself get the job done.

Well i have been waiting for my timing kit and should be in today. Once these get installed, I just have to wait on the clutch/fw. money should hit my paypal account shortly so i can order these and get this baby installed. then 1000cc injectors, e85, and emanage. just missing the 1000cc but that should be ordered by the 15th when i get my income tax.

I got a valve spring compressor in the mail a couple days ago, looks like it should work. Someone else was using it on the site

They are available a lot of places, this is just an example

Ive always used grease to hold the valve keepers in place, so you dont loose a finger haha

Build is looking great, i love the truck bed liner and the fact you know what you are getting it done!

We have a compressor like that too but it is a pain compared to the lisle. The main issue i have is using 2 4x4 wood blocks to hold up the head so the clamp can fit under the head then clamping it down and making sure it did not move when clamping in order to avoid it from messing up the mating surface and bore.

thanks for the compliment. the bed liner is nice. what really like about it is that it is not extremely flashy but something different and the durability of it as well. They say this stuff protects metal from rusting.

I am having a mental debate on spraying the compressor a color. I dont like the clamps on the back of the compressor how they are rusty. I may just get some high heat silver and give it a flash. If I was crazy i would do a ken block green like the scooby he use to drive.

Thanks. I should have some updates this weekend with the skyline clutch and flywheel. we just started up our s14 today with 248 cams. even with a cat you can hear the grumble a little bit.

hopefully by the middle of march. i need to get an fpr and injectors. Then just to break in the motor. then break in the clutch. then tune in boost regions and be good to go. i hope i break into the 11's. i am already planning on getting a z33 tranny with adapter down the road to hold the power.

What grade of hose are you using for the oil feed/return lines?

I used some hydraulic 1/4 inch lines for my z18et turbo setup. I made it up at work with crimp on fittings and jazz. Later to be told my out hydraulic supplier that using such hose is not ideal for turbo oil/return lines. The engine oil gets far too hot for the hose to withstand it for long periods of time.

They said the oil bakes the inner core of the hose. In turn, making it brittle, than eventually cracking off and finding its way into the turbo and or sump.

That being said i used mine like this for over a year, without any problems. But eventually changed the feed line over to a nylon inner braided hose.

Food for thought. Double check the max temp rating for that hose.

The hose i used was an Enzed product (you O/S guys may not have heard of them). But essentially we use this high pressure hose for our John Deere tractors. So its not just cheap ****, its of high grade and quality.
All about boosting da Dato!

Sounds good. Thanks for the heads up. I will need to double check the hose. I told them it was needed for engine oil so hopefully they understood me right. The psi rating is at 375psi so I know i am covered there.

tinyt/tryintoturbo was right about you. i wish i could find that thread. continue to think that the air is going to be significantly cooler when you run a cold air intake. if you hydro lock the motor, dont blame nature, blame your cold air intake design smart engineer.

just some posts of how smart you are.

thank you sir.

i am using my 550cc injectors with 93 octane just to break in the motor and clutch. then i am going to install my fpr and 1000cc injectors with e85. so it may be about a month or more before i can go all out. but i am happy the emanage is working as planned engine works mechanically and electronically.

D@mn, i hate being at work when i know i want to do something.

Well, the car is idling smooth. No oil leaks, water leaks, etc. I am going to put insurance on the car soon so i can take her out and tune for cruising. get this going and just take my time. I am happy with the result so far. now i just need to order parts but waiting on deals to come and paypal money to clear. then buy some stuff and move forward.

No water cooling on the turbo. I was reading a thread where someone tee'd it off of the block. Underneath the exhaust manifold. Do a search for that.

Yessir! I am taking my time with her. I just need to install my catch can, spark plugs, wires, pressure switch (overboost protection), fpr, injectors, and coolant. At least I can move her around the yard if need to.

Little update: Tuned the car to free rev so I can setup my knocklite. Installed my overboost protection switch. I just need to get an air pressure regulator to dial in on the psi to shut off the ignition. Besides that, another good day. The clutch feels good, not aggressive like an off and on switch. Just waiting now to buy some injectors. then get all the 93 octane out and dump lots of e85 in.
