huntsman2007s build thread

Post by huntsman2007 »

Hey everyone, new member, but long time 240 owner. Ive been posting around the forums, but its time for me list some of my progress.

A short time ago i bought a s14, which turned out to be a member on the local 240 forums previous car. The person i got it from traded a sportbike for it, but didnt like the car and kept it a total of 2 months. The car is a 95 240sx, base model converted to se by dane (previous owner) It already has fortune 500 coilovers, godspeed front and rear swaybars, godspeed traction bar, tow arms, ruca's, cusco tower bar, tien tie rods, lsd,vz32 front brakes, stainless brake lines, 17x9 mb battles, stage 3 clutch, 11lb flywheel, injen intake, safc2, and apexi n1. The car handled great, stopped on a dime, but didnt have any pep. I had a sr20 redtop in the garage, and i planned on swapping that in, but i got a wild hair, and decided to go ka-t. So now the car has a garrett gt2871r with .86 ar, sr 3 inch downpipe, tubular bottom mount manifold, godspeed front mount with modified sr piping, and sr 370cc injectors. i havent finished the setup yet as im a little low on time, because im swamped at work. Anyways, im now looking at selling the sr, and building a ka to drop in because im not sure how long this one will hold up under boost. here are some pics, sorry for the low quality, im using my droid as a digital camera lol

Plans are to go built bottom end and 35r, but who knows where it may go! It now has a pignose lip retrofitted to it, and hopfully i can land some sideskirts and aprons for the rear.

i'm pretty sure their manufactured overseas like the rest of the companies but there is a lot quality control like each coilover is tested on a shock dyno before they send them to america... i know fortunes U.S. head quarters is here in virginia " richmond i think". i like the fact if i ever have a problem with mine or if ever decide i want differnt spring rates or somthing i can go deal with them in person.

i personally cant give an honest review on them yet because i haven't put more than 5 miles on mine before it tore my car apart, i'm hoping huntsman has good things to say about them.

Sorry for the delay fellas, but to answer your question, I love these coilovers. By far the best I've ever owned. I've had 2 sets of teins, on set of zeal functions, and a few cuscos, and these definetly ride the best while still maintaining the aggressizve handling.

Thanks for the kind words. The cars exterior needs some work, its got a lot of dings, and it needs a new fender, but I want to get the motor done before I worry about the looks. And I'm glad you like that intercooler piping lol, I want to get custom piiping done, but I don't have any idea what that would cost

a friend of mine here in va beach runs a shop called "Ramey Built" you might have heard of it... he usually charges around $400 to make a full custom, polished, tig welded aluminum charge pipe set up,

heres some work he did on our friends s15

UPDATE
Bad news, the car won't hold up to boost, the rings are going bad, and the clutch is slipping, working out a deal on parts to build a new shortblock. Then I'm gonna max this little pea shooter turbo out before I move up in turbo size, anybody got any head studs and a metal headgasket they wanna sell? Lol
