KA7 project

Post by ka7 »

This is my first gen rx7 which i got tired of that dam rotary engine and swapping a ka24de in it,Am really aiming for at least 500 to the wheels so far these are the parts i have:
Sakura FC10 EMS
MSD 6AL
Precision gt35r turbo 60/63 and it's a t4
Cast iron ebay manifold for now
Turbo smart blow off valve and waste gate
OBX fuel rail with -8 fittings
A friend gave me a aluminun crank pulley he had bout from ebay (Not sure if i shoul use it)
As for now i already made the mounts for the engine and trans. but the motor is out,Am actually working on the head am just polishing it dont really want to open the ports since i read that it's not that necesary. Also just bought a set of bronze valve guides from EPP hope there good.
Heres a pic[/imgImage]

ill post more tomorrow

Nice I love the old RX7.. this would be an FB?

BTW you might want another manifold than the cast to reach 500whp, the design of the cast manifold we see on ebay is very very poor.. you could easily free up >60hp with a good tubular manifold.

I normally don't like it when people put one companys motor into another companys car (i.e. 2jz in a 240sx) but this is actually kinda cool

I took my resistor box out and used the peak and hold drivers on the mspnp. It quieted them down a little bit with better idle control.

Great looking car, looking forward to this build. As for putting a KA-t into it, ***** what everyone else says. If I had the $$, I'd KA-t everything, 350z, Evo8, BRZ, Sienna....

I love this. I have had a fc, and a 84 fb gsl-se. I blew a coolant seal among other things, and I always thought it would be cool to throw a KA in there. Around here in MN you can pick up a running KA motor/trans/ecu for around 500 bucks. Reliable, easy to work on, and parts everywhere. What is the whp/wtrq? Love to see this thing do a few pulls :)
