ahahahaha! I have a friend that designs car and I was trying to get him to design something for my valve cover but he is such a procrastinator. So I just went ahead and butchered it lol.

put the v cover on started her up. I put oil feed line back on the turbo and the -an fitting was stripped!!! Cheap ebay oil lines  .

I found out the cylinder number 4 is the dead cylinder. I pulled all the wires and only cylinder number 4 didnt change engine performance so I knoew the problem was there. I the switched the spark plugs around from C3 and C4 and the problem was still at 4. Now I needed to figure out if it is an Injector or plug wire, so I smelled the plug and it smelled like fuel. So It must be the wire or dizzy.

edit: The popcorn noise stopped after I removed the chain guide.

Put a plug in the #4 wire, lay it against the valve cover, or anything with a good ground

You should feel the plug snap into the plug wire, and it should spark when you crank the motor over. Make sure the plug bottoms out in the spark plug boot.. You can have the wire pulled up too far in the boot, causing a missfire.

Its not going to be the dizzy. It is obviously working. Could possibly be a damaged cap, or plug wire.

Since your plugs are good. Swap wire for cylinder 3 with cylinder 4. Then do as previously stated put a spark plug in cylinder 4 and place it on a ground see if you now get spark on 4.

If so you know its a plug wire. If not, I would replace the cap which is like $15 and go from there, I would also replace the rotor if I recall its only a couple bucks.

I bought a set of plug wires before going to work. I'm going to switch them out and see what happens once I get home.

First ill do what you recommended though. If my wires check out good, ill just return the ones I bought.

There were a few cracks and tears in the number 4 wire. Also red discoloration along the wire. m going to change the wires out and start her up.

Just to clarify, and forgive me if I missed something in reading the thread, but before you did all this, was the engine running smooth? I didnt see anywhere where you mentioned how it was before, maybe I missed it? Just wondering what all changed to suddenly have a dead cylinder

Correct, it was runnin smooth the first time 3 times I started it. Then I started it again and it started shaking, which lead me to diagnose a dead cylinder.

no.
I changed wires, cap, and rotor. I also checked for spark on all cylinders.
There is spark and fuel on all cylinders. But C4 is still dead.

Time for a compression test.

Ok so before doing a compressison test, I decided to do ONE LAST THING. I switched the fuel injector from C1 with the fuel injector from C4, and what do you know? The cylinder that was missing had now changed to C1. I bought these injectors off of beercan and he told me he only used them for 500 miles. I trust the guy so Im not sure if the Injector is bad or I need to change the Oring.
.
haha wow....
Would this cause a dead cylinder though?

I didn't drive her at all after the turbo setup, just idled in the driveway. My worst fear was something wrong internally, but now I have finally narrowed it down. I'm going to try to figure out if the injector is bad or if its just a problem with the oring. Then I will replace all 4 injector o rings.

The spark plug was wet with fuel so I know/assume the injector works. How do I test it to make sure though?

Lay the rail on a rag or whatever, crank the motor, they should all spray evenly

The missing O ring prob caused it to flood and not fire at all. You could send them in for cleaning / flow testing, or just get new orings and see how it runs.

So I dropped the injectors in with the new orings and low and behold!!! Still was missing on one cylinder. So I guess one injector is effed.

Time to get a new one grrrrrr

Edit: I'm not giving up on this injector yet. It worked the first three times on start up, also the spark plug smells like fuel. What could be the problem? I'm not getting it.

Have you tried taking off the rail and spraying the injectors into a bucket?

Have you OHM tested them with a DMM?

Injectors have been fixed :)

It turns out that the orings were the problem.

My downpipe is one thing, my midpipe is one thing, my test pipe is one thing the rest of my exhaust one thing, and my muffler is one thing. Ill gets some pics up tomorrow. The car sounds like a beast, just waiting on my new oil line to come in and its time to take her out.
