Granted pure power can shear the gears but most failure is from tranny shock. Just baby it by going into gear easy then romping on it. I used Lucas cause it said you can put 50% in with existing oil. I also used thicker than 85w-140 before the Lucas. When it is cold, it would be stiff but after it warmed up, it was smooth. I also noticed my shifter was cooler than any less weight I had in their. But I used the thicker oil to help avoid tranny shock and it lasted me +3 years. I ended up blowing a tranny while n/a but I was clutch kicking and beating the piss out of it.

Just regular ole Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.

Says you can use 25%-50% in manual gearboxes so I did and some more.

I agree that's mostly the case. I know that kedbmx was rolling into the throttle when he sheared the teeth off of his third gear. I'm not sure about T2T. With a good clutch that doesn't slip, traction, and 550+ whp, the tranny is a ticking time bomb, even when rolling into the throttle (no tranny shock).

That Full Race mani looks so damn good with that ceramic coating.

Tranny shock is the #1 culprit of damaged trans. If your going to make serious power/Tq then go with solid diff bushings and a clutch that will provided the minimum amount of stress on the trans. I have seen stock trans (referring to R154) hold up to some serious power as long as the stress is minimized on the trans. For those of you that may not know the R154 isnt typically recommended past 600-650 lbs/tq yet I have seen them hold up to much more as long as the driver isnt a dumb ass and the stress is minimized mechanically.

Cant wait to see her done Drew.....and trust me I know how you feel about the pockets. My standalone is about 75% of the total cost of my car when I bought it in 2002 :(

Why is the hot coolant going to be going to the bottom of the radiator? Or am I interpreting the pictures incorrectly?

Posted: Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:14 am
by turbo2nr
bottom of the radiator is going to the water neck, that pipe needs to be cut down and bent..

yea this v mount has alot of r&d time in it, it should flow like no other.

I'm loving that V-Mount! Im debating whether or not to do a mid-mount on mine. Trick is, the AC unit must go...

im leaning toward the black/red, i think the blue/red is classic but way to many colors going on in my bay with polished/purple, flat black ect..

the black and silver is nice to but kind of plain IMO
