Re: finally building my ka :-)
Ok so here are some pics of my motor I finally got back from the machine shop along with the head.
Thanks to turboholic for the cams which will be in asap just waiting for my cosworth hg.
JE pistons and K1 rods
Head is stock except for the cams, thinking about at least port matching intake and exhaust ports.
Decided to paint block white its high temp.
And should end up looking like this

Did you have a local machine shop do the work? The setup looks fantastic thus far.

I should be right around 9:0, .025 was removed from head, with 8:5 pistons.

Re: finally building my ka :-)
What made you go with the 1.5 instead of 1.1?? Curious cause I was about to order one last night and realized there were different thickness's and had me at a loss. And im assuming the thickness will play a pretty big part in c/r.signals13 wrote:I should be right around 9:0, .025 was removed from head, with 8:5 pistons.

Re: finally building my ka :-)
Yea it will affect the compression ratio, but it was because of the amount of material removed from the head and block.

Re: finally building my ka :-)
The oil feed is too long. The vibration in the KA will eventually crack it.

Re: finally building my ka :-)
Are you talking about the t-fitting? Or the stainless line? What should I do?
Re: finally building my ka :-)
the whole thing is too long(not the line) and it will eventually crack. I did the same thing back in 97 when I first turboed my KA. I ended up removing the plug on the oil filter housing and re-tapped it for the turbo feed.

Re: finally building my ka :-)
Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely change that around.
Re: finally building my ka :-)
If you want to keep the oil pressure switch, look into a Honda oil feed adapter. I have been using one for years and it is a much bigger piece that resists cracking. plus if you have to go back to na you can just plug off the turbo feed port.
