Well sold my 240 but.....

Post by smbonn2005 »

It's an unfortunate thing, but I decided a couple months ago to part out my 240 build and sell my shell, as I found a new toy I just couldn't turn down. I've chatted with a couple members from here and they all said to post up the new project anyways... :D

Extremely clean southern car that I got for dirt cheap. Was stored in a warehouse for 4 years so a lot of it has been piecing things back together and getting the car to how I like it.

First thing was to get rid of the ugly coil pack assembly that sits on top and replace it with something a lot better looking and performing....

Yeah that's more like it. Swapped over my Optima and billet mount from my old 240 as well and cleaned up the previous owners wiring nightmare.

Also managed to pick up a vented headlight cover for dirt cheap so have that installed as well too now.

That pretty much has it caught up to the current, have some parts sitting here in my bedroom to go on, including a Blitz Nur Spec exhaust and a full intercooler kit for it. Coming along quite well over such a short time I think!!!

I would like to see the 7m make some power before a j is swapped in.

I second that, I like when the unconventional is done over the conventional, which is why I went KA24DET over the SR/RB swap. I cant wait to put my buddy's SR20 to shame lol. Everybody does the J series, bring that GTE back to life and smoke some 2Js with it, haha...

Haha as much as I love the KA, sadly it is time to move beyond that motor lol.

Already have a set of ARP head studs coming in and will definitely be taking care of that right away!

I definitely will be doing a little bit with the 7M, but in the end for the power and reliability I want, it makes a lot more sense to go 2JZ rather than sticking with the 7M, mainly because of the aftermarket support. Hypertune Intake Mani and PWR turbo Mani say what?!
