A Friend of mine wanted to race me with his buddies stock evo 10 with intake only. Why did I even bother. But it was interesting to see where my car stood on 93 pump gas. I haven't run e85 in over a month now. The car feels just as strong with this intake.

Looks good. I like how you painted the flange on the Xcessive intake manifold. There was someone else on here that did that too, but I forgot about how much I liked it. Might copy ya on that one.

Thanks guys. It's just black paint from advance auto. Has a pic of shocks on the can. Supposedly it holds up since it's for parts that are underneath the car. The paint isn't all that shinny in person. I got bored at work last night and hit all the shinny stuff with some polish.

I just saw an advertisement for the new dodge challenger. It's supposed to be making 485hp. I don't know about all dat. I done 2 3rd and 4th gear pulls with one yesterday and jumped him pretty good both times. I done the same thing against a new charger. I'm no where near 400hp on 93 pump gas around 16psi with this lil baby turbo.

Are you using hood spacers?

Just washers and longer 10mm bolts and cut a small piece of the bracing. I may order my new turbo with V band inlet and outlet and have a guy i know cut the t3 flange off and the collector down a hair. I looked at my collector vs another mani and my collector and flange sit a Lil higher than #2 and #3 runners. The mani I looked at had the flange sitting almost flush with #2 and #3 runners

Hood spacers will only help at very slow speeds or if you're sitting in lots of stop and go traffic. And that's if they even help at all.

I love the way your car looks but it would look so much better if the hood sat down where it is supposed to be, IMO.

Are you still on the ROM tune? I assume you are since you're still running a distributor, but I don't see a MAF in those pics.

When the hood was down the turbo put a small dent in my hood. The car doesn't have any over heating issues at all. I drive it in 103 degree weather. Drove it to the beach last weekend. I added the other lil stuff to make it more efficient. I'm not really worried about the hood or the front end. I still have my full metal kouki front that's goin on. I'm picking up an aftermarket market back bumper this week and will be fully kitted out. I'll get the hood closed when i get the manifold reworked for the new turbo. Im Still on rom tune at 16psi and was 20psi for a long time. I actually went to about 25 a few times and held it to about 145mph. and the maf there. I'll be fabing a cold air box tonight at work and wrap it with gold tape also.

Something was holding the car back in 1St and wasn't building boost until 3000rpm. Boost would come in a hit like i had a big turbo. Since this vid i've adjusted the dizzy and fixed 3 boost leaks and cleaned the Maf. The car pulles out the gate in 1st now. This is on the enthalpy 93 tune. Its very weak compared to the e85 tune. https://youtu.be/DeiPJpTRfVs

Re: 2nd time around/ Nc flood 240 turbo

Post by cham »

Well I live right here in Robeson county NC. right dead in the heart of the flood. My neighborhood is under water along with several other places and half the city and country side. I got lit and left my car at the shop friday. Thank God it's out away from town. This is stuff you see on tv. The river that runs all through my county and city has flooded. We already got hit with heavy rain in NC The past 2 weeks b4 the storm. My back yard is all that's left and a main highway behind my yard. I've watched rescue go in and out of the city all day. Choopers, boats, fox 8 news, national guard. my sister is deploying her unit from Norfolk to bring supplies. She's a E7 boss lady. But my family, kids and friends are all ok and moved to higher ground. 30 miles west has power restored and back towards Charlotte NC.

A car can mean alot to someone, but at the end of the day, it's only metal, glass and plastic. Your family's life is more important than all of those things.
Glad everyone is safe.

Anyone ever heard of an oil cap going bad? I have the cap that screws half way down and clicks like a gas cap. It seems to have vent slots also. I took the cap off to add oil and next thing I know l saw smoke after 2 miles down the road. The cap was leaking. I had a spare cap thats made totally different. It screws down closer and doesn't have vents underneath.
