You don't replace the dizzy, you convert the original KA dizzy to a CAS by using a trigger disc. I used the one supplied with my AEM series 2, and purchased a block off cover from Xcessive.RebornS14 wrote:so when you run coil packs, what do you use to replace the distributer? it almost looks like a SR CAS.phkretschmer wrote:

nice build dude. I like the hot air intake you made off the turbo. Are you on meth injection or are you just smoking it? Heat wrap is for exhaust, not keeping heat in the intake. Try a bigger intercooler on your next build...or hit me up when you want your engine built right.

Its not the size of the turbo,Its how you spool it.

Dumbest thing I've read in a long time... Are you familiar with the concept of radiant heat? Since when is insulation a bad idea?

plus its the HOT pipe.it gets hot. you wrap it so the heat don't dissipate throughout the engine bay.

I was leaning more towards the engine / turbo radiant heat raising air intake temperatures. It has been proven that air exiting the intercooler is hotter than air in the actual core. The same can be applied to hot pipe air. I do agree that reflective tape or gold foil is better than heat wrap. Aluminum piping is also 100X better at heat dissipation than steel.

Just finished my bay, cherry red pearl (AH3) rustoleum rattlecans definitely recommend for people who dont have a gun. Also fixed the typical s13 shock tower rot took me about 5 times each side to lay a bead of caulking just like oem ; )

You "shure" are "dence"...Mark Washington wrote:groundperformance

Supa ! HAHAHAHAHA LMAO install a pyrometer or try using a laser pyrometer like a Blue point. If the pipe is aluminum it disipates heat quicker. I can understand using gold foil tape. Colder air is dence.
"Engineering for thermodynamics" is one of the classes I went to college for, so I feel that I have a good concept of how heat transfers. I didn't mention/reply to get bashed on.
Lower engine bay temps are for shure a gain,! but the main reason for that is keeping the air that comes in the throttlebody/s/combustion chamber cool. The exhaust header wrap is keeping the hot air that came out of the compressor in. Look @ a stock Evo or saab or STI orF350/250/NPR ect ect, or any other factory based turbo car/truck.
Good luck, im shure it will run fine regardless of what you make the pipe out of no big deal never mind happy boosting! Why try to make a point on here?
