Opinions on some welds please!
I got my tig about 2 weeks ago and that's all the experience I have so far, but i'm curious to see what I need to be working on.
16g mild pipe
The one thing I know i need to do is when i start/stop overlap my welds better so i don't have those gaps, but any and all criticism is welcome!

The welder is a thermal arc 185, and so far i like it alot, not that i have anything to compare it too lol.
I know i'm not running out of gas but what else could cause that? I think the tungston might have been a lil contaminated so i'm thinking that's the reason. And ya it's just a practice piece nothing of any significance lol.
i don't have a pic of the inside but it penetrated all the way around

yes, looks little on slow/hot side. adjust your gas to where it just flow slowly out but not too slow...you can feel it about 1-1/2 inch away from hand. use same filler rod as mtrl being welded and also turn heat down to around 65 - 70 from the looks of the weld, u weld on slow side, no biggy just turn heat down and pacde your self to some ac/dc or def lepord....the rythm of rock music is a good dab rate.

Hello Here, Pipe Welder 5 years.
First, that looks pretty god for a two week welder.
Second. to achieve better welds some steps you can do. Polish your weld-zone with a Flapping Wheel until mirror finish. You can also clean with some Pure Acetone, thats if your ANAL. The Best Welders are.
third, on stainless you need to cap of your pipe with some cardboard and duct tape and feed a second line with pure argon. This will prevent "Sugaring" Ugly root.
I would recommend to learn how to Walk the Cup.
One of the most important steps, always brace yourself off. pretend that your a Sniper and you need to take the best Shot. If you get to a point in your welding that you all the sutton become uncomfortably, STOP. Re-arrange your self, make your self comfortably and continue, always STOP before you potentially mess up your welds.
Always with Pipe, tack weld four quarters and weld one quarter at the time and always opposite from each other. example...12 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock, 3 o'clock

Oh, one more thing, Keep that Tungsten Sharp, Alot of people weld with the rooster tail, i dont it is always in the way, just get your self a nob instead of the tail. Now you can cut your tungsten in half and sharpen both ends, make yourself a little tungsten holder. It saves time from constant sharpening especially when your just starting out. I use a bench grinder to sharpen.
Just slow things down with a little less heat until you perfect your consistency. and don't dip your tungsten and if you do and you tip is burned, don't continue to weld, re sharp the tip.
Once you become more consistent you can increase your heat and speed.

^ some very good advice!
Remember if you chop your tungstens in half you won't know which color they are/were and they can get mixed up. I use the same rare-earth tungsten (arc-time from link below) on everything but some people like to use different blends on different materials. Tungsten selection and prep is in itself a whole discussion and everyone has their own preferences....
Regarding sharpening the tungstens, many people suggest you use a dedicated grinding wheel. The idea is that you don't contaminate the tungsten with other metals you've ground. I personally avoid the whole issue by using a dedicated "Sharpie" tungsten grinder from Arc-zone.com:

Your welds look pretty good for someone just starting out! Keep it up!
