I'm not really sure what you're talking about?? Maybe it has to do with climate and temp... Yeah I think it says something about that on the can. I let it bake in the sun a day in between coats and cured pretty nicely. Besides it's not like we live in a third world country where a sand blaster in unheard of.TinyT wrote:duplicolor undercoating that doesnt dry, ha. enjoy that stuff. over your entire bay.

Exactly. But you live in LA, so it's the same as living in a third world country lol j/k91white_ka wrote:Besides it's not like we live in a third world country where a sand blaster in unheard of.
I think the tubs look good. I just put one some 17x10's and I wish I would have tubbed my **** before I put the motor in....

Whoa bro!!!.... You went too far that time lol.
As for tubing with the motor in. I did a traditional trailer fender set on a friends car right before I did these. It can be done. The tig makes it difficult due to how the torch is sensative to angle and such. Plus the set I did with the motor in what outside, in the wind( in my third world country). So that probably made the experience that much worse.
Updated shot of the engine bay.....let the hatred rain.

Tiny, glad you like it. This motor was originally supposed to go in my 350z but I got a wild hair one day and decided a stock ls1 would make a fun reliable daily, I still own two built/ semi built ka's... Plus a sr (I was bored). Anyway the end goal for this project is to be able to provide cheap lsx swap parts to the 240 crowd, based around a kit that utilizes the gto oil pan and keeps the sway bar in the stock location so it still acts like a sway bar. Easy, it's really not as bad as it looks. Pick up a 4x4 sheet of 18 gauge sheet metal from your local air duct manufacturer or metal supplier and go to town. If you don't make a removable tube radiator support like me tubs are a simple task and don't effect structural rigidity so you can tack then in and go over your gaps with seem sealer or liquid nail and the paint. Plus it looks way better that a engine bay with lots of hammer marks. Ha! Tommy, ls1 is bound to happen seeing how we just got that new shop! Missile car ftmfw!
