Post by tom550 »

im new to ka-t so if i mess something up or what ever sorry.

well i kave a 240sx ka24e. ive wanted more power but finally decided just to turbo my engine.

i want to just buy a kit or a half kit which one would you say was a better deal. or even a good kit.

-this site has 3 different kits for it-
http://import-autoperformance.com/turbo ... 1plus.html

I hear the jgs starter kit is a good way to get started. I would recommend staying away from cx racing, due to they're manifolds cracking.

It might be cheaper to just peice a kit together...

I haven't built one or purchased on yet... so I'll let some of the more experienced guys chime in here.

Make your own. lol

Get a good manifold, turbo(used is fine) and injectors.

Get a generic exhaust, intercooler and piping.

Use a chipburnec and a wideband to tune or a standalone.
Mild rebuild in progress. Hopes of entering Targa Newfoundland in 2011.

We bought the CXracing kit to see if it does well for the price, the turbo is cheap and not very good flow compared to a Garrett. The BOV was crap, the manifold cracked two days ago at the wastegate side of the mani. It didn't crack from heat or bad welds though, the wastegate was too close to the tower and smacked against it due to bad motormounts. After a re-design and a bend on the wastegate pipe to move it outta the way, it seems not to be an issue now. All in all the cxracing kit is crap DONT DO IT. =]

Where on the website? I'm new

Is there like a parts page?
Or a store or something?

I would much rather built a turbo than a kit just I've looked all over the Internet and everything expensive

it's debatable, but imo everything but the turbo is somewhat useful. not that i would run a cheapo wastegate tho. as far as bov's go i think if they work they work. my fav bov is a greddy type rs, but there are many better ones out there. honestly jgs kit would be the best for you. i use many parts from them.
