PCV System: Fitting Size On Block Side

Post by dzaster »

On the block side of the PCV valve line there is a threaded fitting. I can't say if my fitting is stock as it appears to have a make-shift gasket washer. However, the box that its screwed into that hangs off the block is threaded. It's slightly larger than 1/4npt, and smaller than 3/8npt.

Anyone have any ideal what size/thread it is?

I want to convert to -AN for my oil catch can setup.

Thanks

Perhaps an 8mm Thread?
Though I would not be surprised if it comes up as a BSPT either.

I thought the same about bspt thread like the oil pressure switch.

Its a little larger than 8mm though. Ita even larger than 10 I believe, however, its not a tight/fine thread either.

If I recall it was 1/2 bspt. I did this about 3 years ago.

You may be right. I went ahead and ordered the 1/2 bsp to AN fitting. Hopefully it works.

1/2 BSP is too large. I will post a pic of the fitting I pulled from PCV and the 1/2 BSP fitting.

Maybe 3/8" BSP?

Ya, its a 3/8 I believe. I used a 3/8 pipe fitting from home depot and it worked with a little force You really need to pay attention to the type of thread tto get it to go in flush.
