That Tokyo Drift movie comin out friday....?
i'm lookin forward to seein it but i hope i don't get dissapointed. anyone hear if it's goin to be good/bad? now that we look back at the previous fast and furious movies they were all jokes, but at the time i was like 15 and thought those black civics were the fastest cars ever. hopefully this one is good. i mean i am expecting the typical love story/life or death race at the end, or whatever.

Myself and a few others are going to see it. We dont expect it to be anything too good, more or less just wanna see the cheezy acting/one liners and those impossible drifts through traffic in reverse at 90+ mph with the ocassional good parts. I guess well see how it is once it comes out eh?

Be careful true ricers do copy everything they see on Fast and the Furioso. Better belive one of them has a gun to look "cool"biggie wrote:Its gonna suck, but we are getting a large group to go watch it and laugh at all the ricers in the parking lot. That part should be the biggest entertainment.

not only the movie, but im sure i'll find something sweet on the parking lots (plus the ocasional laugh at a ricer)
but i wish they can mute the actors and just leave the cars sound cause theyr gonna talk a lot of crap....

Another crap movie. Too much computer generated scenes. It will suck. As the 2 before ruined scene for real tunners, this one is going to ruin drift scene. All them ricers will buy rwd cars, and slide around the street corners, or at least try doing that. I will just go and see what kind of BS they made this time. I agree as one guy said above, laugh at the parking lot full of rice. And i mean full, 'cause i am going to the drive-in theater!!

If that's true then that's crazy cuz he barely fit. that would be crazy to see. BUT i mean he's ok i guess. it's not like he's good or anything.Initial Daniel wrote:Actually, a lot of the scenes were done by real respected drifters. I thought that scene where the 350z drifted up the parking garage was BS, and they put it on a rail or something, but it turns out that Rhys Millen actually did that one in 1 take. Surprise, surprise!

as much as i dont like the franchise and what they've caused to the "scene" i might go see this tonight. just cuz theres nothing else good playing and i want to see the cars.
i actually liked the first one even though they stole the exact same story line from point break, lol.
im not looking for details on the movie, but please tell me of some of the car scenes were done in horrible CGI like the second movie. cuz that just kills it for me. i at least hope the drift and car scenes were somewhat reall and kinda possible.

Saw it last night with the other moderators of my chicago car club and for the most part, everyone liked it. for me, it was a surprise b/c i'm very adamant against anything that gives my car anymore attention than it already has (don't need kids or cops hassling me); but i actually came out with a positive view on the movie. we agreed it was the better of the 3 movies. also surprising enough i paid for this one, the last 2 i paid for other movies and snuck into the f&f theater.
though, it's possible i might have been spoiled <Spoiler Here> in the scene where they first go to the drift area in the garage, they show a little taste of some of the show cars, and one of the 240 engine bays has a KA-t in it
Some things my friend said about it...
"Anywho, the movie actually isn't that bad. There are many cameos of famous drivers, and other people involved in the import scene. The driving and the angles in which they capture many of the scenes are quite amazing. The cars are all quality cars and there are actually cameos of cars famous from D1 and Formula D. As for the acting, yet again, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. There are a few cheesy lines, like the damn title, but thats expected in most movies geared toward youth america."
"One plus to the making of the film is that Toshi Hayama, JDM Insider host and guru of the import scene, was hired as somewhat of an authenticity consultant. He himself has been known to speak very negatively against the whole show car scene that strays from performance tuning. He said that he would only be on staff if they would take his advise seriously and from the movie, it seems they did."

I went and saw the movie yesterday and I got a free ticket because my friend Wayne was going to have his 71 skyline there because it was in the movie and i was going to watch over the car while he was in the movie. I thought the movie was hell of a lot better than the other ones. I dont think I saw a civic or any lambo doors in the whole movie. It was alot more realistic than the others too. I too also noticed the fishmen and who the guy was =] . The only bad thing I see coming out of this movie is that now all the 15 year olds that are getting their licenses this summer are all going to be trying to drift their mom's mustangs and miatas.
