Car tags avice :/

Post by shift_down »

Ok guys, I need some help here.

My tag on my 240 is 12 months late, My fault I know! Is there anything I can do to avoid paying the 1$/day fine? Or do I have to suck it up and pay?

If you know anyone that owns a mechanic shop or a junkyard they can write a receipt saying it was in there shop and it hasnt been running until now. That would wave all fees.

shot in the dark but could you "gift" the car to someone or sell it for like $20 and they sell it back to you and just re-register it? You'd have to pay to re-title and everything but bound to be cheaper then what sounds like a $365 late fee

His tag is out of date. Unless you are Indian you have to pay for it correct. In Oklahoma you have 30 days after it goes out to get it without fees. After that they start assessing fees but last time i was there they put a cap on it.

If you have a card to prove it you can go somewhere and get an Indian plate and from what friends tell me they just give you a new tag each year.

Just talked to my friend and it is official. You can get an Indian plate and tag they charge only 25 cents a day and it caps at 3 or 5 months. They got their title and tag for 350 on their scion so your much older 240 should be cheaper. Then the tag being renewed each year they said is like 20 a year.
