KA24 Headwork/Portwork pics flow numbers posted page 3.
Hey peeps heres some pics from the starting of my current motor project, heres the plan/goals: which have changed from all motor to a KA-T
500wheel KA-T
90mm throttle body
.550" lift cam
custom header
stock bore or .5 oversize
eagle rods
9:1 compression
e85/100octane or higher dunno yet
M112 EATON supercharger with 2-1 gilmer drive
15-20psi
powerband starts at 2k stops at 7k
fun times
After some review of the cutaway of the ka head it has ALOT ALOT of potential. With 36mm intake valves and 32 mm exhaust valves its has the potential to flow in the 350-400 cfm region. Something i'm attempting to reach. Heres some pics of the start of R&D.

hahah i'd have a square wave power/torque curve. this motor, if applied to someone with money would make 1500hp if equipped with a GT47@40-50psi1993ka24det wrote:keep up the good work, if you add boost , you would have 24hp per 1 psi than 12.5

some info i've learned
GSR B18 head i think has a 30 or 32mm intake valve. ka EXHAUST valve is 31.xx something.
K20A2 uses a 36mm ircc intake valve and when professionally ported flows 350-400 depending on who does it.
My boss who owns MRD compared B series to KA valves and went off. This is when i decided to research further and found alot alot of potential. haha. he owns a 250whp B20vtec. we both have the potential to build a 350wheel motor but not the money so we have been talking **** back and forth.
i need to buy a flow bench.

The GT3 guys keep the stock bore for rigidity. My block is hardblocked to 1 inch from the deck. You might be fine, but at 350hp I'm almost sure it will move around enough to cost power. May not come apart, but still cost power. It may cost more power than the additional ci's make. The bigger bore is real nice for deshrouding the valves. One thing you may already know, the felpro gasket won't work with 90.5mm bore. Look for a block with as little core shift as possible. I checked about 20 blocks before picking mine. S13 blocks seem to be machined a little better. Many of the CORR guys run truck blocks without squirters and girdle. Are you going drysump? I'd plug the squirters either way.

how to you measure for core shift? i had thought about checking out a truck block. I think i'm going to HAVE to drysump it if i plan on coming close to my goal. cuz at my power goal thats 87hp a cylinder and to do that with about 39cubic inches im gonna have to spin to 9k and flow 350+cfm. I dont even want to test the factory oil pump to those specs. One thing i do like about the SOHC blocks is the external oil pump that looks real beefy. At a minium on all my motors i plug the oil squirters.

You measure core shift with a ultrasonic thickness micrometer. Not many people have them. major credit to you for doing this as its been needing to be done with a more in depth of the ka head
i knew it had major potential just needed someon to do the r&d but i also plan on port and polishing my head any tips for me PM me (ive been researching ALOT and i feel more than confident bout doing it myself now but would always like more info)

I went through the runner on cylinder number 1. so i defconned (allumium epoxy) runner one and decided to change water flow through the motor/head.
be nice, its not done yet.
