|
so I was a dummy pulling my head in frustration the other week to get some work done and I forgot to mark the cam gear/crank gear beforehand. Head goes back on tomorrow and I just remembered I forgot to do that now...
I REALLY dont want to drop the pan and go through all that or anything else if I don't have to. Im sure some people have dropped their chains, etc before (similar situation)
Anyone have any timesaving methods which don't involve me having to get into all that?
What position should the cam gear marks be in at for #1 tdc compression? _________________

So, you have it on TDC on the crank? If you do, it should be straight up. The dowel should be straight up. I always just ziptie my chain to my cam sprocket everytime I swap cams or take the head off or what ever. _________________

Yea tdc @ the crank is easy.
That's good to know though, shaves a few hours off my day tomorrow of swearing and finding parts and tools I've thrown lol _________________
