KA24E intake manifold
Thanks Jordan! I got the runners from Gladman today. I am waiting on a plate for my Xccesive manifold that has the stacks in the spacing The intake ports are in.
I didn't get quite what I was going for on the plenum so Im hoping this runner style will flow better from 5500-7200 my new redline with the new cam.(colt solid 272 clone)
The fuel rail is from Rich as well.
My runners will be cut, any length suggestions for my RPM PLANS? just pretend it was 7000RPM's flat since 7200 is just an option do to the Dyno chart from my present cam that has less duration that the new dream cam that has not been ground yet only discust
and Im still consittering #s for my new grind or just slapping the 3:89's in again so I dont have to rev so high but I wont do that do to stuburn'ness and thinking I like it even though its alot to get used to as most of you know.

Thanks I appreciate that.
For the Garage yes I was clearing out crap all over and taking pics of things Im selling so yes it was tore back, and I was looking for some things Icant find. I have boxes and boxes of turbo and KA-T related crap I cant put to use, and a small work space I put to good use.

I still dont have my camara so hang in there but my runners are not big enough inside diamiter/ID I would have to port like a mother and have the beed soak through
and it would get less power and be weak. My velosity stacks are about 10mm bigger than the ones I have. I might be able to flair the runner where it goes on the plate/stacks
since the runners are almost spot on on the stock flange/oval side.
I am not going to use an idle controll valve since I dont care about high idle in traffic or gas milage. When I had just the plenum it ran fine with no ICV

So the old lady's getting back saturday with My Camara so I can post pics.
I have been spending too much on the car to justify another camara.
So I Might just eliminate the upper hose and go to the thermastat any Idias before I jus do it?
To get a good solid bead around port #1 I will have to shave the cooland neck or just relocate it. I ordered a thermal gasket from rich and got stainless bolts for the flange so it will have matching hardware. Since the long bolts cant be used anymore.
I am having the runners flaired to the ID my stack plate I wish I could take a pic of.
So sexy, My girls been gone so anything is lookin good at this point JK
but it is a smooth transition.
I was thinking about equal length at first but after reading one would think the air would shoot by the first runners and the back two will hog all the air.
Same theory of having 4 widebands, You dont need them but in theory on could be leaner
than the rest or richer.
If I got too mathmatical about this manifold (IM not) It would take forever.
My Idia behind the gains I plan to make from this is purly air volume. I dont care how short the runners are since I have plenty of room but I did want to have a reason for the length. I haven't had them flaired yet so I still have options. So far It looks like Im keeping the ugly PS reservoier. No need to move it, And its away from the major heat.
If only I could move my BMC over JK Ill save that for the Japs.

Thanks, I plan to beed blast it after work tomarrow on all the dirty spots and if the cast looks like crap Oh well. I still have to make mounts for the fuel rail but I haven't got my 850's yet so Im waitin on that. I dont want to weld over paint or powder so I'm holding off on that.

That looks awesome man, good job. I need to get a tig one of these days.
I wonder if having the runners coming in at an angle will effect flow at all.
Also, I wouldnt powder coat it, I thought about powder coating mine as well, but you're going to end up insulating the intake manifold and keeping in more heat.

I did think about the heat soak a little. I guess If I did paint/coat It would be a light color.
So Jordan, You think I should try to buff it on my polish wheel after I blast it in my cabinet?
I Dont know what The flow will be like, But Ihope its better than before.
Its like the air has to go reverse on runner #1 (not Ideal) I was going to make the runner plate the same spacing as the flange but I hardly would have had room and My Idia was if I made the #1 runner too close to the TB then air would pass by #1 and skip it all together. "Just a theory" Before I nit pick at it, I want to see if it helps any.

The plenum acts like a pressure body and will distribute the air as it is needed, no1 cyl should be fine.
If you sandblasted the whole thing you could just leave it with a rough finish, but if you did decide to sand and polish it, it would only take a few hours to get a mirror finish.

I beed blasted a little then attempted to port a little\
I went through 5 biskets so far and Im not even close so I need to get some more from summit or a hardware store.
Im not going to use a thermal intake gasket anymore even though I have one just cause it seems so weak. Im just going to use felpro and a dab of high temp copper silicone for now since I know this head is going on my other block soon. Im going to try the new intake on this motor before I spin a rod bearing.
Im starting to think I cut the runners too long for my new cam and power band desires but at this point Im just going to try it and hope I like it.

Wow I posted the same pic twice DOY
It will polish out ok but Im not to into it. I also dont think the paint will make a difference.
Im going to do a minot shine and jus leave it get on the dyno and move on maybe paint it later. The cast plenum will look like crap polished but I saw a DE with a black Xcessive plenum that looked real nice and he has 700+HP from what I heard. I dont plan to ever have 700HP so I think painting will be worth the 300HP loss JK

I am still waiting on my 850's before I weld the fuel rail mounts. I dont want to guess or estimate. I am going yo have it crush on though since its topfeed It a dirrect pull down.
The throttle linkage is also going to need to be changed but I dont know how the TB is going to be tet so Im waiting on that too.
This is my fuel lines regulator and rail

As you can see and as I thought, I have to make a 90* on the upper radiator hose
before I can fully mount the plenum on the plate
I just cant break out the sawsall right this moment or else you wouldn't have seen this step.
Before the upper hose was right under the TB. I didn't like that at all, but I wanted to drive it. Now it will be out of the way, and it makes more sence to me.

Seconds later, Im looking and going wow? How do I keep my power steering here and put the upper hose here?
I wanted to keep the room on the other side but It loks like I may move it to the drivers side
Didn't want to . Well I'll sleep on it, That was a spur of the moment thing to think of.

Its a tough gig, but you can pull that upper rad hose port right out of the aluminum body. I pulled mine out and miter cut it at a 20deg angle and flipped the tube and reweled it back on to get the clearance I needed.
Everything else looks good man, i personally think the polish looks good. And the nice thing about bare aluminum is that its durable. Powder coat is tough, but when you scratch it or crack it, it creates a color contrast. Bare aluminum is low maintenance and effective.
As for runners, I can do a set of these runners for $50+shipping, if anyone is interested drop me a PM.

When I pulled the upper hose barb out, I cracked the flange so I had to fix and prevent that. I also didn't have any elbows around let alone aloy, and my mind was stuck on aloy, so I cut 45* a few times and scribed/ripped it so the upper hose wont blow off under pressure.
I worked on it for a while and I know how to avoid this next time but in the end I think I'll get what I want.

We started @ 1 bar and couldn't get it to lean out or knock so we just kept raising the boost till the clutch started slipping.
The clutch is a Spec 350Z stage 4 6 puck and the FW is a RB20 F1 Spec.
Cody/*bit is still working on tuning so this is only a start.
The engine bay is empty again si Ill clean it up and start over.
