Do you have any other hobbies?
Hey KA-T. I just wanted to see what ever one else likes doing besides spending countless hours on their 240.
I like to mess around with my other toy: Little Rusty. It came with a .025cc nitro motor & it recently got upgraded to .033cc This lil bastard is a $ pit on its own lol
Anyone else out there with a nitro car? Post it up!

I would actually place my KA hobby second to working out and body building. I've been totally hooked on training for the last 3.5 years and i've hit the gym pretty consistantly 5-6 days a week since I began. If I had to choose to give up the gym, or give up on cars. I'd probably toss the car.
Dont ask me to post pics, it just wont happen
PS. sweet car, i've seen those things in action, pretty flippin cool.

I used to be really big into nitro cars/trucks, but got way too expensive for me to have that and real cars as a hobby. Had a HPI MT, it was fun and I had about a grand into it. Still have a cheap off brand car in my closet if you want it haha. and a bunch of random parts

I too used to be big into rc cars, at the time it was cheaper than the real thing. The bottom of this page is my scale garage from '07. There have been a only a few additions since then. Been too busy with the full size cars and other stuff (gf) to mess with them lately.
I have been getting more into photography lately. With digital there is no real cost involved.
I have been trying to keep up with the weekly assignments on the Digital Photography School.
Since moving to Wisconsin I netted some minnows while swimming last year. I "had" to set up an aquarium to see if I could keep em. That tank has recently been re-set up as a natural planted tank with locally collected water weeds and sheet.

Paintball for a while. Very expensive when we weren't sponsored. Still not cheap even with sponsors.
Use to have a Nitro TC3 RC car. It was just as expensive as every other hobby I've had.
My 240 is the only hobby I really have left anymore. Can barely afford it, much less any other additional hobbies.
Just picked up a DSLR camera for my bday in May. May become a hobby soon. Digital photos don't cost anything. So this hobby may stay. Although lenses can get pricey.
Hopefully I'll pull through with my mechanical engineering degree in '12 and then I may be actually able to afford something!

well heck -
I've got the following RC Cars and Trucks:
Traxxas Revo 3.3 w/ axial .28 motor (fast off road truck)
Sportwerks Mayhem .28 buggy
Traxxas Nitro Rustler with a 2.5 (or .18cc)
Team Associated Nitro TC3 on road car w/ .18
Tamiya TB-02 electric onroad race with brushless system
Tamiya TT01 electric onroad drift car
Losi M-LST 1/18th scale truck with brushless system
- there's probably one or two I forgot.
I also fly RC planes and Helicopters - I currently have
GWS Slowstick with SSX upgrades and brushless system
Parkzone slo-v with a small onboard camera system w/ brushless
Fundango w/ brushless
Extra 300 profile foamy
(all planes)
JR Ergo .90 Size Heli with 23cc 2 cycle gasonline engine (on big mo fo - blade span of just over 5 feet)
Align TREX 450
Blade CP-Pro
Mini-Dragonfly
Novus CX
(all helis)
I also play around with andriod phone (just got a new galaxy S) and am a member of the baja student design team at Missouri University of Science and Technology - http://baja.mst.edu -
I also play PC and console games, but not competitively.
All that and of course my 240. I don't fly as much anymore as i would like, but still find the time to. On top of all that, 30 hours of work a week and being a full time student, there's not much time for hobbys.

I have a few more hobbies, everything is so expensive though.
#1 Hobby is being of tired of going to college
#2 Annoyed with my job, hahah.
I enjoy building computers and messing around with different Linux distros. The gym has always been a hobby, and last but no least: Mayhem.

I started a thread about r/c hobbies and somehow missed this. Doh! I owned a T-maxx years ago, and a Heli-max helicopter that I never could fly for more than 5 seconds without crashing. That was probably 7-8 years ago.
More recently... I've been really into flying r/c helis for the past 8 months. I have a MCX2, MSR, 120SR, and a Blade 400 (that I flew once and crashed. Put it back together and haven't flown it since.) I just got a new one that I am hoping will help me learn to fly a collective pitch heli. It's the MCPX.
Here's my first outdoor flight with it. Keep in mind I'm new to these types of helis (collective pitch) so I am keeping it pointed away from me until I get used to the flying characteristics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg8hS54Pobs
These things don't just hover by themselves like some of my other "beginner" r/c helis. If you are not 100% in control the entire time, you will wreck.
Once you learn to fly a collective pitch heli well, you can do some crazy stuff with it. Here's a guy flying the same helicopter, but he's actually got some skills:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDi4ckGJGi4
And here's some real crazy "3D" flight with a larger collective pitch heli: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2m451SbvhE

I have flown rc heli's for 6 years. and love it.
I currently have an xcell ct1003 kit I built its amazing.
Here are pics.
I have also flown the bergen observer. it can mount a slr or video camera to the front mount and film or take pictures.
here is a picture I took of my neighbor's yard from about 60 to 80 feet from the ground.
I have been slacking though I haven't flown the heli for over a year
because of other things. I was kinda thinking about getting out of the hobby
so I can start working on cars more

That's a cool heli. I did some quick reading on them and they seem pretty complicated to build. Your aerial pics didn't show up, btw.
Also, why would you get out of the hobby if you love it? Just get yourself something smaller and cheaper!
