Oil feed from sandwich plate

Post by sodel_s13 »

Hi,

I have a ka-t, built. eagle rods, wiseco 9-1, walbro, ported polished head etc.
My car keeps blowing turbos one after another. Im running my oil feed line from a sandwich plate, is anyone else experiencing these kind of problems with enough oil supply? yes, i am running a restrictor on a an -4 ss line. what should i look for? Im pissed, its like my 4th t25.

thanks!

im running a -4 line from my oil sandwhich with zero problems. i put a inline adjustable restrictor but have had it all the way open with no issues. and its a journal bearing.

if your built, why not go with something bigger than a t25?

My restrictor size is like 1.1mm. where did you get the adjustable one?

t25 because im poor. haha i want a t28. i use the car for drifting, not looking for big numbers, just something that will give good response.

i got it from a buddy, but you can find them online. its just a valve you can adjust how open it is by turning a knob on the side of it. i have it all the way open though (no restriction). i would take the restrictor out of the line and see how it does.

i bet you would like my turbo. garrett t3/t4 50 trim, .58 hot side. quick spool and good for around 430hp. i paid around 400 brand new.

Sandwich plates are not filtered. Get rid of it. I burned up 2 turbo's running a sandwich plate. You might get away with it running an older motor but a new motor will run a ton of metal particulate from break in through your turbo.

Drifting and running the T25 at high rpms on too big of motor can't be helping them.

what jordan said. i rebuilt my motor, did the first oil change like REALLY quick, maybe 50miles. and killed my turbo by the first 500mi. I am now tapped into the spare hole on the filter neck AND running an inline filter. now i can sleep at night.

remove filter
removet the "filter neck" attached to the blok with 4 bolts
remove the spare plug from it. i had to drill and ez out it.
its bsp thread, buy a bsp to -4 fitting from pegasus racing.
be REAL careful about metal shavings and what not.

That port on the oil filter block is filtered. Just a sandwich plate is not.

yup. and u can get fine screen filters on ebay for like 12$. moroso is like 70$. i got it and am happy its like kanguwanga or some crazy brand like that search -4 an in line filter, its black. i ordered pre made lines from pegasus too. the added inline filter is perhaps over kill being double filtered but it didnt cost much more for the filter and 2 lines instead of one. FYI youg going to need a 90* off that filter neck and its a TIGHT squeeze between the motor and altinator. i slipped a rubber hose over it to kinda wedge it in place and avoid wear from vibrations.
